Okay so *news flash*! Masayoshi Son the head honcho at SoftBank is officially head over heels for OpenAI. Like 'Love Story' level obsessed. He's throwing around yen like it's confetti at the VMAs planning to invest a whopping 4.8 trillion of them (that's $33.2 billion for those of you not fluent in Japanese currency). I mean even I'm impressed and I once wore a sparkly dress for three hours straight just to take a picture with a cat. He believes OpenAI will be the most valuable company in the world. Talk about manifesting! I need to get on his level.

The 'Missed Opportunity': Sam Altman's Microsoft Saga

Here's where it gets a little 'Begin Again' ish. Apparently back in the day Sam Altman OpenAI's CEO gave Son the chance to drop a cool $10 billion. And guess what? Son was ready to say 'Yes!' faster than you can say 'Red (Taylor's Version)'. But *plot twist* Sam chose Microsoft instead. Ouch! Son's probably humming 'All You Had to Do Was Stay' on repeat. It sounds like a plot straight out of one of my songs except instead of a lover it's a multi billion dollar investment.

Now things are getting a bit 'Shake It Off' y for Microsoft. Apparently they're not loving OpenAI's restructuring plans and their exclusive cloud provider status is *gone*. Son's hinting that maybe Sam should have picked SoftBank after all noting Microsoft's strengths but subtly throwing shade like a true pro. It's all very 'Bad Blood' esque but with tech giants instead of backup dancers. 'Cause baby I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me... or you know invest in AI. Either way.

Despite some reports Son is doubling down on his OpenAI crush. 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' doesn't apply here. He's all about this 'artificial superintelligence' – AI that's 10,000 times smarter than us humans. Honestly sounds a bit terrifying but also like a great premise for my next album. Maybe I'll call it 'ASI (Taylor's Version)'? I can already see the headlines.
