Faster Than a Speeding Bullet...Towards Automation!

Greetings citizens of Earth! Or as I like to call you my adopted home's digital natives! It's your friendly neighborhood Superman here bringing you the latest news faster than I can fly around the world backward to turn back time... though let's be honest I try to avoid time travel these days; things get complicated and Lois hates it when I'm late for dinner. Anyway word on the street (or you know from Bloomberg because I'm a journalist now) is that Salesforce is going all in on Artificial Intelligence. CEO Marc Benioff is talking a big game about automation. Apparently AI is already handling 30 50% of Salesforce's workload. It seems like only yesterday Lex Luthor was using computers to try and take over the world. Now they're taking over… mundane tasks? Progress I guess. Though I still keep an eye on LuthorCorp just in case.

A Brave New World...Or Just Cost Cutting?

Look even I know that these tech companies are always looking for ways to save a buck and boost productivity and now that AI is a big thing they are all in for using AI. Salesforce isn't alone; other tech giants are making similar moves. They're saying it's about 'higher value work.' But if you can read between the lines (which as Superman I literally can) it seems like some positions are getting a one way ticket to… well let's just say they're not going to the Fortress of Solitude. Even Klarna Amazon CrowdStrike are getting in on the action. This is a serious wake up call. I'm all for progress but not at the expense of good people. We need to ensure everyone benefits not just the bottom line. Maybe I should have a chat with these CEO's...a very *persuasive* chat. "There is a right and a wrong in the universe and that distinction isn't hard to make." (Superman IV: The Quest for Peace)

The Digital Labor Revolution: Are We Ready?

Benioff himself is calling this the 'digital labor revolution.' Dramatic right? Makes it sound like the robots are about to rise up and demand better healthcare. But he also said that Salesforce has reached about 93% accuracy with the technology. 'Pretty good,' he admits but not perfect. I guess even the best AI can't quite compete with Kryptonian intuition. I'm kidding of course! But seriously 93% is impressive. However I've seen what happens when technology falls into the wrong hands so it is important that we be careful. Still 93% accuracy is pretty impressive. Of course I can bench press a planet so my definition of impressive might be a little skewed.

Faster Higher Stronger...Accuracy (Almost)

Benioff takes a shot at the competition claiming other vendors are lagging behind because they don't have as much data. It's like saying Lex Luthor's evil plans fail because he doesn't have enough minions! (Okay maybe that's a little unfair to the competition.) But the point is data is king in the AI world. And Salesforce seems to think they've got the biggest and best data crown. But even the best data is useless without integrity and consideration to others. I've learnt this the hard way over the years.

Commodities and Kryptonite: What's Next?

According to Benioff data centers and chips are 'commodities'. From my point of view so is land but some people will do anything to get their hands on it! But enough of that. So what does all this mean for you the average citizen of Metropolis (and the world)? It means that change is coming faster than a speeding bullet. Some jobs might disappear but new ones will emerge. It means we all need to be adaptable learn new skills and maybe even start talking to robots (politely of course...you never know). I'm going to keep an eye on all this make sure no one gets left behind. After all that's what Superman does. "There is a right and a wrong in the universe and the distinction isn't hard to make."

Truth Justice and a Well Programmed Algorithm

The future is uncertain but one thing's for sure: AI is here to stay. It's up to us to ensure that this technology is used for good to create a better world for everyone. To protect the world from devastation and unite all people within our nation. With the strength of AI maybe we can finally solve climate change cure diseases and finally get Lex Luthor to admit he's wrong about everything. Okay maybe not that last one but a guy can dream can't he? This is Superman signing off. Remember be kind be brave and always look up… because you never know when a Kryptonian reporter might be flying by!
