Up Up and Away… From Amazon Stock?
Greetings citizens of Earth! Your friendly neighborhood Superman here reporting on some shall we say *astronomical* financial news. It seems Jeff Bezos the man who brought us same day delivery (which admittedly isn't *quite* as fast as my travel speed) is planning to sell a substantial chunk of his Amazon stock. Up to 25 million shares to be precise! That's enough shares to fill the Fortress of Solitude... almost. As someone who understands the importance of future proofing I can only assume this is a strategic move. But what could it be for?
Kryptonite Tariffs? Amazon Feeling the Heat!
Apparently even the mighty Amazon isn't immune to Earthly concerns like tariffs. The bigwigs at Amazon are bracing for uncertainty related to tariffs. Talk about a 'truth justice and the American way' dilemma! It seems someone (who shall remain nameless but rhymes with 'Dump') gave Bezos a ring a ding ding about it. From what I hear through the grapevine (and my super hearing) it was a bit of a *heated* discussion. Thankfully Amazon clarified that no such change was coming. The planet's already complicated enough.
To Infinity… and Blue Origin!
Since stepping down as CEO Bezos has been focusing on Blue Origin. Is he planning a manned mission to Krypton? I do hope he packs a lead suit! Seems like he wants to boldly go where no one has gone before. As someone who spends a fair amount of time zipping around the cosmos I can appreciate that. Space after all is the final frontier. But knowing Lex Luthor he is probably cooking something up there...
A Fortress of Philanthropy?
But it's not all rockets and ray guns! Bezos is also pouring funds into his Day One Fund. As Ma Kent always said 'What comes from the Earth must return to the Earth.' Well maybe she didn't say it *exactly* like that but the sentiment is there. It's heartening to see someone using their resources to combat homelessness and improve education. It is nice to see a billionaire doing things that benefit others. That is the least he could do for society.
Lex Luthor's Guide to Financial Takeovers
Now some might speculate (cough *Lex Luthor*) that this stock sale is a power play a maneuver to amass even more influence. But I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt... unless they try to destroy Metropolis of course. He is just selling stocks to invest in his other interests. It would be suspicious if he were buying weapons or lead.
So Long Farewell Auf Wiedersehen Goodbye!
Only time will tell what Bezos plans to do with his newfound billions. Perhaps he'll build a giant robot to fight crime! Or maybe he'll just buy a really really big Amazon Prime subscription. Whatever the reason let us hope he uses it for good. Until next time folks keep your eyes on the skies! And remember 'There is a right and a wrong and that difference isn't small.' – Superman.

Seriously, what does one even DO with $4.8 billion?

As long as he doesn't use it to buy Kryptonite, I'm good.
