Fascinating… or Is It?
As a Vulcan I find the current situation… intriguing. The Trump Organization a commercial enterprise associated with the former President Donald Trump has commenced the sale of paraphernalia bearing the inscription 'Trump 2028.' This is shall we say *peculiar* given the established constitutional limitations on presidential tenure. As Mr. Spock I find the situation raises certain questions about the very nature of human ambition and the interpretation of laws.
The White House Reacts… Sort Of
When queried about the aforementioned merchandise the White House directed inquiries to the Trump Organization – a logical if somewhat evasive maneuver. The Trump Organization exhibiting a silence that would make a Vulcan proud declined to comment. However Press Secretary Leavitt offered a less than illuminating observation: 'It's a cool hat.' One might posit that the subjective assessment of coolness is hardly relevant to the objective legal constraints involved.
Rewrite the Rules? Highly Illogical.
The apparel in question includes a $50 hat and a $36 shirt the latter adorned with the phrase 'Rewrite the Rules.' This phraseology suggests an intention to modify the U.S. Constitution specifically the 22nd Amendment which limits presidential service to two terms. The possibility of amending a fundamental legal document for personal gain presents a… stimulating challenge to the principles of logic and fairness. It reminds me of the Kobayashi Maru a no win scenario designed to test character.
He Likes Working. Fascinating.
Mr. Trump has previously hinted at the possibility of seeking a third term stating 'A lot of people want me to do it.' He further elaborated 'I like working.' This is perhaps the most logical statement he has made on the matter. However personal preference does not supersede constitutional law. As I told Captain Kirk 'Logic is the beginning of wisdom not the end.' One would hope the same applies to political aspirations.
Bannon's Bold Prediction: A Quantum Leap of Faith?
The former White House advisor Mr. Steve Bannon has boldly proclaimed that Mr. Trump will run for and win a third term assuming office on January 20th 2029. He even alleges the existence of a 'team' dedicated to enabling this improbable outcome. This pronouncement requires a considerable leap of faith surpassing even the most optimistic projections of temporal mechanics. It borders on the realm of pure… speculation. "Insufficient facts always invite danger."
A Resolution to Amend: Setting a Dangerous Precedent?
Representative Andy Ogles has introduced a House resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution allowing Mr. Trump and only Mr. Trump to serve a third term. This resolution which singles out an individual for special treatment raises profound questions about the impartiality and integrity of the legislative process. As I have often observed 'Change is the essential process of all existence.' However arbitrary change driven by personal agenda is rarely beneficial logically speaking. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few... or the one.

Is anyone else sensing a temporal paradox here?

Perhaps we should consult the Prime Directive on this one.
