Spilling the Tea: What's the Drama?

Okay besties so you KNOW I stay out of drama... except when it's HUGE and affects everyone! Turns out some major medical organizations – like the American Academy of Pediatrics and a bunch of other seriously important people – are SUING the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. himself. Why? Because they think his policies on the COVID 19 vaccine are and I quote 'an imminent threat to public health.' Yikes!

Hold Up... RFK Jr. Did WHAT?!

Apparently Bobby K. Jr. (can I call him that?) decided to remove the COVID 19 vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) childhood and pregnant women immunization schedules. Like WHAT?! These are the schedules that doctors and nurses use to give vaccines to children and pregnant women so removing the COVID 19 vaccine from that list is pretty risky. It's like removing the 'W' key from your keyboard how are you even gonna type 'W' without it? And honestly it doesn't sit right with me.

Shrinking the Fed? More Like Shrinking Our Health!

Now here's where it gets spicy. Apparently Kennedy Jr. is a long time vaccine skeptic and he's trying to 'remake' the U.S. health system to align with President Trump's goal of shrinking the federal government. I am pretty sure that shrinking the government should NOT include endangering people. It is giving *'I'm just gonna do my own thing'* vibes and I am not here for it!

Baseless and Uninformed? Ouch!

The medical organizations are saying that his policy decisions are 'baseless and uninformed' and put people at 'grave and immediate risk' of getting sick having long term health problems or even... *dramatic pause* ...dying. That's a HUGE accusation! Like 'accidentally leaking your search history' huge. Nobody wants that!

Fired?! And Replaced With... Anti Vaxxers?!

Okay this is where my jaw DROPPED. Kennedy Jr. apparently fired ALL 17 members of the CDC's Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices – these are the experts who help the CDC make vaccine policy! – and replaced them with just SEVEN new members some of whom have literally advocated AGAINST vaccines. It's like replacing your gaming PC with a calculator... what even is the logic?

Big Yikes or PogChamp Move?

So there you have it fam. A massive lawsuit accusations of endangering public health and a whole lot of drama surrounding vaccines. This whole situation has me questioning so many things!
