Hey besties Poki here! So I stumbled upon this article and my eyebrows shot straight up like I just saw a *really* good meme. Apparently several medical orgs are SUING the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Bobby K Jr. himself (yes *that* Kennedy). Why? Because they think his vaccine policies are a 'big yikes' for public health. And you know I gotta spill the tea on this!

Hold Up He Did What Now?

Apparently Bobby K who's been giving 'vaccine skeptic' vibes for ages (yikes!) decided to remove the COVID 19 vaccine from the CDC's childhood and pregnant women immunization schedules. Like seriously? It's like saying 'Nah kids and pregnant people don't need protection.' As if being pregnant wasn't already hard enough. I mean 'Don't talk to me or my child ever again,' applies to viruses too right?

So the American Academy of Pediatrics the American College of Physicians the American Public Health Association and the Infectious Diseases Society of America – basically the medical Avengers – are NOT happy. They're saying this policy is 'baseless' and puts people at 'grave and immediate risk.' It's like they're trying to tell us that science matters! Who knew? #ScienceIsReal

He Fired All the Experts?! Rude.

But wait there's more! Bobby K apparently fired ALL 17 members of the CDC's Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices and replaced them with seven people some of whom are shall we say 'vaccine hesitant.' That's like replacing a professional League team with like me and my friends after we've had too much boba. No offense to my friends but we're not exactly going to Worlds anytime soon.

Shrinking the Government... and Maybe Our Lifespans?

Apparently this is all part of aligning with President Trump's goal of shrinking the federal government. I'm all for efficiency but when it comes to public health maybe we shouldn't be cutting corners? Like I'm just saying is a slightly smaller government worth risking preventable diseases? It's giving 'I'm about to do what's called a pro gamer move,' but in the worst way possible.

My Unqualified (But Empathetic) Conclusion

Look I'm not a doctor. I play video games and react to TikToks for a living. But even I know that vaccines are generally a good thing. It's like wearing sunscreen; nobody *wants* to do it but you'll thank yourself later. So let's hope the medical Avengers win this lawsuit and that common sense prevails. And maybe someone should give Bobby K a copy of 'Science for Dummies.' Just a thought. *adjusts headset sips water* Okay back to gaming!
