Autobots Roll Out the Capital!
Greetings fellow sentient beings! Optimus Prime here reporting on a development that even I a seasoned veteran of countless battles against the Decepticons find…remarkable. A colossal wave of investment to the tune of one trillion dollars is crashing onto the shores of artificial intelligence. As John Belton of Gabelli Funds wisely notes this isn't just loose change we're talking about; this is a full blown energon surge into the AI matrix!
More Than Meets the Eye (And the Algorithm)
Some are scratching their processors wondering if this is a case of 'too much too soon.' But fear not! While the Decepticons may try to exploit any weakness Belton believes investors are only beginning to see the true potential hidden within generative AI. The adoption of AI is about to hit that 'steep part of the S curve,' and as we all know a steep curve is just a fun ramp for a good vehicle mode!
The Magnificent Seven: Earth's Mightiest Investors
The 'Magnificent Seven' (Alphabet Amazon Meta Microsoft and others) are leading the charge pouring billions into AI infrastructure. And guess what? Belton reports that these companies are seeing some pretty attractive returns. It seems that in this case fortune favors the bold...or should I say the ones with the deepest pockets? My own fund the Gabelli Growth Fund is doing pretty well too. But I digress...
Cost Down Power Up!
There are according to Belton a couple of reasons to keep faith in the grand scheme of AI. The cost of this technology is coming down while its capabilities are improving the cost benefit ratio is starting to look REALLY good. Meaning the number of use cases for companies is growing. It's like getting a bigger gun that costs less energon! Who wouldn't want that?
Labor Replacement? More Like...Enhanced Productivity
Now some might worry about AI 'replacing' human workers. But I see it as a chance for humans to focus on what they do best: creativity leadership and telling robots what to do. Think of it as a super powered co worker assisting with supply chains marketing and even generating 30% of internal databases as seen with Alphabet and Microsoft. Looks like even human engineers and developers will have to adapt to new roles in the upcoming age.
Companies To Watch: ServiceNow Broadcom and More
Which companies are best positioned to take advantage of this AI revolution? Belton suggests keeping an eye on ServiceNow Broadcom GE Vernova and Applied Materials among others. These companies are on the front lines developing and deploying AI solutions that are already making a difference. It is critical for these and other organizations to not become the next Cybertron and to consider where their place in this new world shall be. As I always say freedom is the right of all sentient beings so long as it is used responsibly!
