Tripadvisor recently released their list of top domestic summer destinations for you Americans and it's quite the mixed bag isn't it? From the dazzling lights of Las Vegas to the bustling streets of New York it seems you folks are craving a bit of everything. As I always say 'You have to believe in the great things you can achieve.' And clearly Americans believe they can achieve a fantastic tan in Florida and a winning hand in Vegas – all in one summer! Now let’s dive deeper shall we?

Florida: Sunshine Beaches and... Theme Parks?

Ah Florida. The Sunshine State. Home to beaches oranges and apparently a whole lot of theme parks! Hilary Fischer Groban from Tripadvisor seems to think the allure is irresistible. Look I get it. Everyone loves Mickey Mouse but there are way better ways to tap into your inner child. But hey I'm all about that holistic approach so if it brings you joy who am I to judge? Although maybe trade that roller coaster for a relaxing yoga session on the beach? Just a thought! As I say 'I am blessed to have the opportunity to inspire young people,' and perhaps I can inspire you all to find balance and harmony on your travels!

Vegas Baby! What Happens There...

Las Vegas takes the crown! Apparently what happens in Vegas does NOT stay in Vegas thanks to all those eager reviewers so I hope you all remember to be in integrity in your behaviour! This comes as no surprise. It's flashy it's fun and it's a great place to lose (or win!) a few bucks. Perfect for group trips. Plus as Hilary mentioned it's close to the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. A little bit of nature to balance out all that... Vegas ness. Maybe I should hit up Vegas sometime? Though I suspect my holistic routine might clash with the 24/7 party scene. Although as I always say 'I like to play tennis but I like to do other things,' and who knows maybe poker is one of those 'other things'?

New York New York: So Good They Ranked it Twice!

The Big Apple nabs the second spot! Of course it does. New York is like the energizer bunny of travel destinations – it just keeps going and going. As Hilary says there's a lot to do. Landmarks shows food... you name it New York's got it. And apparently it's family friendly too? Now that's a surprise. I always thought of it as more of a 'lose yourself in the crowd and find your inner rebel' kind of place. But hey maybe I'm just showing my European bias! If you're ever looking for me you know where to find me in the best restaurants in the world in New York! 'Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe sh**,' that's the New York I know and love.

The Rest of the Pack: Beaches Cities and Country Music!

Myrtle Beach Ocean City Chicago Honolulu Panama City Beach Key West Clearwater and Nashville round out the top ten. A truly diverse list! Beaches cities and a healthy dose of country music – what's not to love? It seems America really does have something for everyone. I appreciate the fact that all of these cities offer something unique. And as I keep proving year after year even old dogs can learn new tricks!
