Citi Sees Opportunity? Challenge Accepted!
Alright folks let's talk about something other than my gluten free diet for a change. Citi those financial gurus have upgraded Constellation Energy (CEG). Apparently their stock took a tumble and like a perfect drop shot Citi thinks it's time to pick it back up. They’re saying it's like finding an unseeded player in the fourth round – potential is there! As I always say 'You have to believe in yourself when no one else does'… and maybe when Citi does too.
Price Target Cut? Is That All You Got?
Now here’s the kicker. While they're all bullish they did slash the price target. It's like saying 'Novak we believe in you but maybe you won’t win Wimbledon this year.' The disrespect! Even with the cut they're projecting a decent upside. But as I always say 'Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion'. But in all seriousness these energy stocks seem to avoid some of the market pain which is a positive sign.
Utility Stocks Surviving the Market Chaos?
It seems utility stocks like a good defensive game have avoided the worst of the market's tantrums. The S&P 500 utilities sector is down but not as much as the whole index. But Constellation got slammed harder than my racket after a bad call. So this is an opportunity perhaps?
Gas Builds and Texas Sized Opportunities
This Levine character from Citi seems to think Constellation could see upside if they nail some new gas projects. With or without support from the Texas Energy Fund. Sounds like a good plan let's just hope they don't choke under pressure like some players I won't name *cough* Federer *cough*. On a more serious note execution is key. As I always say 'The mind is everything. If you don’t believe you can do something then you can’t'.
The Nuclear Option and Wall Street's Verdict
Constellation known for its nuclear energy business has many analysts rallying behind it. Seems like Levine has the lowest target on the street but this has something to do with their data centers. I understand that its good to keep focused when you play and in business. The company's risk to reward profile is 'compelling,' so he says. I agree it is like holding two match points in the fifth set the risk is there but the reward is glorious.
CNBC Pro LIVE? Sounds Like a Victory Party!
If you want more market insights (and maybe a glimpse of my winning smile) check out CNBC Pro LIVE at the New York Stock Exchange! Seems like a great way to network and hobnob with experts and maybe learn something new. As I always say 'Experience is the best teacher' but I'm always open to learning new things. Maybe they'll even teach me how to avoid those pesky price target cuts!
