Is This A Joke? (I Hope So!)

Alright folks MJ here. I just read this article about the House's 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act,' and I gotta say it's making me sweat more than Game 6 of the '93 Finals! Seriously though this thing could kick millions off health insurance. Millions! Are you kidding me? What's next are they gonna try and take away my championships? 'Cause that ain't happening! You know I took things personal. This bill is personal too!

The CBO Said What Now?

So the Congressional Budget Office – those number crunchers – are saying 11 million people could lose coverage because of this bill and another 4 million because the Obamacare subsidies are expiring. That's like missing a wide open dunk! How do you mess that up? It's supposed to make things easier not harder. The article mentions rising insurance costs and denied benefits for some people. Sounds like a box out and I'm getting bodied here. I need a foul!

Medicaid Cuts: No Population is Safe!

Now they're talking about slashing Medicaid. $800 billion over 10 years! They're hitting everybody with that cut! My competitive spirit is starting to boil! The article said states will have to make tough choices about cutting coverage. Sounds like my rookie year playing against the Bad Boy Pistons! No easy layups there. And here there are no easy solutions!

The ACA: Dribbling in Quick Sand

The Affordable Care Act is taking a beating too. They're messing with subsidies eligibility and enrollment. Making everything more complicated like trying to understand Phil Jackson's triangle offense the first time. I figured it out eventually and I'm hoping somebody can figure this out too and quick!

Work Requirements: More Like 'Red Tape Requirements'!

And the work requirements for Medicaid? Requiring people to work 80 hours a month to qualify for Medicaid? That sounds like too many hours! It's like asking me to play all 48 minutes every game. I did it sometimes but come on! The CBO estimates that 4.8 million adults will lose their coverage because of that and more might not even report because they don't have the paperwork! It's getting worse and worse!

Immigrants Getting the Blues?

And now they're going after legal immigrants refugees and Dreamers? Starting in 2027 they'll be ineligible for subsidized insurance. Is that fair? No it isn't. Everyone deserves a chance whether you're from Chicago Paris or anywhere else in the world! The game of healthcare should be fair for all.
