Even a power outage couldn't stop the Cannes Film Festival from crowning its champion, proving that some things are just unstoppable – like me in '96.

Blackout? Please I've Played in the Dark Before

Alright alright settle down people. Word on the street is France had a little uh… 'situation' in Cannes. A power outage? Seriously? I’ve faced tougher opponents than a tripped circuit breaker. Remember the flu game? That was a real challenge. This sounds like a slightly extended coffee break. But seriously 160,000 households without power? That's more than the number of points I scored in... well let's just say a lot of games. They say a high voltage line fell? Sounds like somebody needs some better defense. I'm just saying.

Arson? Now We're Talking!

Now hold up. Arson? Deliberately set a fire? Okay now you have my attention. That’s the kind of competitive spirit I can respect… but not condone of course. In basketball you gotta bring the heat but you don't literally set the court on fire. Unless you're trying to distract me. Good luck with that. Police investigating? They need to bring in Dennis Rodman. He knows how to sniff out trouble better than anyone. He’s got a nose for drama that guy.

Cannes Keeps Calm and Carries On (Like Mike)

So the Cannes Film Festival eh? Even a little power hiccup couldn't stop them. The Palais des Festivals switched to backup power? Good. Smart move. You gotta have a plan B C and D. Just like Phil Jackson always said. Adaptability people! That's how you win championships... and film festivals. The festival organizers said all events are proceeding as planned? See? That's what I'm talking about. No excuses. Just get it done. Like I always say 'Just Do It'. Even in the dark.

Traffic Jams? I'm Used to Navigating Those

Traffic lights out in Cannes? Traffic jams? Sounds like my commute to the United Center back in the day. Except I had a driver and I was Michael Jordan. So it was slightly less stressful. Shops closed only taking cash? That’s rough. Even MJ needs a little plastic sometimes. Although I usually just get things comped. Perks of being the GOAT I guess. Train service disrupted? Okay now that's messing with people's schedules. Someone needs to get their act together. But hey at least it gives people more time to watch 'Space Jam'.

A Brief Intermission (Just Like Halftime)

Screenings briefly suspended? A brief intermission? Sounds like halftime. Time to re strategize hydrate and get back out there. The key is to never lose your focus. Always be ready to come back stronger. After all you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. And you definitely don't want to miss the closing ceremony especially if you're up for an award.

Power Restored! Back to Business (As Usual)

Power restored around 3 p.m.? Music blasting again? Cheers from the locals? Sounds like a victory celebration to me. See? Everything works out in the end. Just like the Bulls in '96 they overcame all the obstacles and they came out on top. The moral of the story? Never give up. And always have a backup generator. And maybe a personal assistant to handle power outages. Just a thought. Now if you'll excuse me I have a golf course to conquer.
