Move Fast and Automate Things (with AI)
Alright folks Zuck here. So Benioff over at Salesforce is making waves and honestly it's got my algorithm buzzing. He's talking about AI handling 30 50% of their work. Thirty to fifty percent! That's more than I use to decide what to wear in the morning (it's always a hoodie duh). We all knew AI was coming for our jobs but I didn't expect it to be this aggressive.
Breaking Things (and Cutting Costs)
He's not alone though. Amazon Klarna CrowdStrike – everyone's trimming the fat with AI. Klarna cut their headcount by 40%! Reminds me of the early days of Facebook except instead of 'move fast and break things,' it's 'move fast and automate things... and maybe break some careers along the way.' No seriously this is getting real. It's like that scene in The Social Network but instead of Sean Parker it's a bunch of robots.
Digital Labor Revolution? Sounds Dramatic But...
Benioff's calling it a 'digital labor revolution.' Sounds dramatic even for Silicon Valley. But he's not wrong. It's a tectonic shift. And here I am sitting in my Menlo Park office wondering if I should start learning Python again. Or maybe just invest in more sunscreen. Decisions decisions...
93% Accuracy: Almost Human (Almost)
Salesforce is bragging about 93% accuracy with their AI. That's… actually pretty good. Though I still think humans are better at spotting fake news (sometimes). Benioff's humble bragging about other companies lagging behind due to lack of data. Reminds me of the good old days when we were vacuuming up every bit of information we could find. Good times. For the record I'm just kidding. Now we only take your data that you allow us to take.
Meta's Play: Building the Metaverse (and Avoiding AI Takeover)
So what's Meta's move? Well we're building the Metaverse of course! A whole new world where you can interact with… digital avatars! It's either the future or a massive distraction from the AI apocalypse. Honestly I'm not sure which. But hey at least in the Metaverse I can have abs. And maybe a better haircut. It's all about the small wins you know?
The Future is Now (and Slightly Terrifying)
Look AI is here to stay. It's going to change everything. And as a tech leader I'm both excited and terrified. But hey at least we'll have more time to work on our tans. Just kidding (sort of). The real challenge is to ensure this technological revolution benefits everyone not just the bottom line. So let's get to work. And maybe invest in some AI proof hoodies. Just in case.
