Here We Go Again! Blockade Blues!

It's a me Mario and I've a got some spicy news from the Mushroom Kingdom... I mean the Middle East! Seems like Defense Minister Israel Katz is saying 'no way' to Greta Thunberg and her crew trying to deliver aid to Gaza. He's a saying Israel needs to keep its naval blockade strong like a my biceps to stop Hamas from importing weapons. Wahoo!

Greta's a On a Mission!

Greta and 12 other activists are aboard the Madleen part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. They left a Sicily last week hoping to break the blockade and bring some much needed supplies. They're a trying to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis which is apparently worse than trying to find a Power Star in Bowser's castle!

Uh Oh! Trouble in International Waters!

But a hold on! Seems like things are getting a bit dicey. One of the activists Thiago Ávila posted a video saying their tracking and communication devices are being jammed. Sounds like someone's playing dirty pool worse than Bowser trying to cheat at Mario Kart!

No Entry! Israel's a Not Playing Nice!

Apparently Rima Hassan a French member of the European Parliament is also onboard but she's been barred from entering Israel. Talk about a game over! Israel has been allowing some aid into Gaza but humanitarian groups are saying it's not enough. They're a warning of famine if the blockade isn't lifted and the military offensive ends. Yikes!

Deja Vu! Flotilla Fails!

Last month another Freedom Flotilla attempt ended with their ship getting attacked by drones. They're a blaming Israel which denied the attack. The blockade by Israel and Egypt has been going on since 2007 when Hamas took control. Critics are saying it's collective punishment for the 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza. It’s a like trapping everyone in a giant inescapable pipe!

The a Numbers Game!

The war has been devastating. Hamas killed around 1,200 people in an attack last October and Israel's military campaign has killed over 54,000 Palestinians according to the Gaza Health Ministry. It's a sad situation and it's destroyed a lot of Gaza leaving almost everyone dependent on aid. Let's hope they can find a peace before it’s a too late! It’s a what I always say!
