Berkshire Bites the Dust: Old Age is a Ruthless Tribute
Well folks looks like even the seemingly invincible can stumble. Warren Buffett bless his cotton socks is finally stepping down. Shares of Berkshire Hathaway took a nosedive faster than Peeta trying to outrun a Jabberjay after the announcement. Turns out even the 'Oracle of Omaha' can't outrun Father Time. New management takes over in 2026 but can they handle the pressure? Remember what happened when Seneca Crane tried to spice up the Games? Sometimes sticking to the classics is best.
Semiconductor Blues: When Good News Isn't Good Enough
On Semiconductor apparently can't catch a break. They beat expectations but shares still tanked. It's like winning the Hunger Games but getting a lousy loaf of bread as your victory meal. The analysts at FactSet forecast 51 cents per share but the estimates say 48 cents to 58 cents so this quarter even though positive wasn't enough to keep them from tumbling more than 8%. The Capitol truly is a fickle beast.
Skechers' Cinderella Story: From Rags to Riches (or Just a Bigger Wardrobe)
Skechers got bought out! They're practically skipping to the bank! Apparently 3G Capital decided they needed more footwear in their lives. Other shoe companies are enjoying the wave Crocs and Deckers rising. But lets be honest could they survive an arena? Ehhh... I wouldn't sponsor them. They may need some sponsors to get through this.
Tyson's Troubles: When Chicken Nuggets Aren't Enough
Tyson Foods missed their revenue mark and the stock price paid for it! They fell almost 8%. I suppose the Capitol is getting tired of chicken nuggets. It's a grim reminder that even essential resources aren't always a guarantee.
Streaming Wars: Trump's Tariff Tussle
Speaking of the Capitol former President Trump is threatening tariffs on foreign films. Netflix and others streaming services dropped because of this. If he makes good on this threat I assume there will be some resistance. If we burn you burn with us.
Small Victories: Glimmers of Hope in the Darkest District
Not all doom and gloom folks. EQT Wendy's and Sotera Health actually saw some sunshine today. Upgrades all around! Small victories sure but in a world where everything seems rigged any win feels like finding a dandelion in the ashes of District 12. Maybe there's hope for us yet. But as always I'm watching.
