The Name's Trump Donald Trump: Taking Credit Shifting Blame

Right so I caught wind of this rather *interesting* interview with Mr. Donald Trump. Seems he's decided to play both sides of the economic coin claiming the 'good parts' are his doing naturally. The 'bad parts'? Well those are courtesy of the previous tenant Mr. Joe Biden. It's a bold strategy Cotton let's see if it pays off. As I always say 'Bond. James Bond.' Trump. Donald Trump. Very similar wouldn't you agree?

Tariffs are Forever (Maybe Just a Few Years)

Our man in Washington is quite adamant about these tariffs. He believes they'll make the U.S. 'very rich'. Rather optimistic even for a Bond villain wouldn't you say? He's standing his ground even with all this economic uncertainty looming like a SPECTRE operative in the shadows. Though he did mention only being around for a 'little more than three months'. So you know give him a break he's practically a rookie.

Blame It On Biden: A Quantum of Solace... or Contempt?

Ah the blame game. A classic political maneuver and Mr. Trump is no stranger to it. He's pinned the U.S. economy contracting in the first quarter squarely on Mr. Biden. It's like blaming Goldfinger for the price of gold going up. A bit of a stretch wouldn't you think?

Supply Shortages? License to Ignore

Now here's where it gets a bit...eccentric. Our friend in the White House dismissed concerns that his tariffs would lead to supply shortages. Seems he's more concerned about the number of dolls a young girl possesses. He stated 'I don't think a beautiful baby girl needs – that's 11 years old – needs to have 30 dolls'. I'm not sure how that relates to economic policy but then again I'm just a simple spy with a penchant for martinis and saving the world. He's clearly thinking globally acting locally...or something like that.

Recession? Shaken Not Stirred!

Even with the possibility of a recession looming Mr. Trump is downplaying any long term negative impacts. He called it a 'transition period' and believes 'we're going to do fantastically'. It's either unwavering confidence or a classic case of 'Live and Let Die' optimism. I for one am intrigued. Though Q better have a backup plan just in case. You can never be too careful.

The World Is Not Enough (Except for Maybe Dolls)

So there you have it. Mr. Trump's economic vision in a nutshell. A blend of blame bold pronouncements and a rather peculiar stance on the number of toys a child needs. Whether it's a 'GoldenEye' opportunity or a 'License to Kill' the economy remains to be seen. As for me I'll stick to defusing bombs and outsmarting villains. At least those are quantifiable.
