Oil's Well That Ends Well?

Good evening Moneypenny. It seems our friends in the oil sector have been rather busy. WTI crude up 14%? Brent trailing slightly behind? Reminds me of a chase scene in Baku – always a bit volatile. APA Corporation leading the charge while Texas Pacific Land is playing the villain down 23.6%. One must keep an eye on these things; fortunes can change faster than a Bond girl's loyalty. As Goldfinger would say "I love gold!"... But perhaps black gold is the smarter play at the moment.

Uranium: A Nuclear Option?

Uranium now there's a power source with potential. Sprott Uranium Miners ETF up 7% on Monday alone! VanEck chiming in about reliable power for data centers. It's a shift alright. A real shift as that Sprott chap said. Makes one wonder if we should be investing in Geiger counters and a secluded island. But with all this talk of zero greenhouse gases even Blofeld might be tempted to go green. As they say Never Say Never Again.

Tech Titans and Apple Tumbles

Big Tech hitting new highs eh? Microsoft IBM Jabil Palantir – all strutting their stuff like Bond at a casino. Apple however seems to be having a bit of a rough patch. Down 7% in three months? Perhaps they need a new gadget from Q Branch. Though I must say their gadgets are never quite as effective as a Walther PPK. Speaking of gadgets Jabil is reporting earnings tomorrow. Let's see if they can pull a rabbit out of the hat or will it be a view to a kill...

Feeling the Heat? Utilities Under Pressure

A heatwave looming? Well that explains the sudden spike in my desire for a martini shaken not stirred naturally. Utilities often move with the heat but not this time they were the worst S & P sector performer. AES Vistra NextEra oh dear... PG&E is at the bottom down nearly 20% in June! It's like trying to defuse a bomb with the wrong wire. Perhaps they need some assistance from a certain secret agent.

Biotech Blues and Homebuilder Hiccups

Sarepta Therapeutics took a nosedive did it? 42% drop after halting a drug. Ouch. Even I've had better luck dodging bullets. But this analyst thinks it's a buy. Risky business but as I always say 'the name's Bond James Bond' not Risk Averse Bond James Bond. Homebuilders are also feeling a bit down Hovnanian being the exception. Looks like there is no time to buy for most.

Food for Thought: Bunge's Bonanza

Ah food. Always a pleasure. Bunge up 6% after China approved their merger? Archer Daniels Midland also having a good run. Soybean futures jumping? Makes one wonder if we should be investing in a farm instead of a MI6 expense account. Coffee and sugar are down though. Perhaps I'll stick to the martini then. After all nobody does it better.
