The Family's Hurting
Let me tell you something family isn't just about blood. It's about loyalty respect and having each other's backs. And right now Japan – a long time ally practically family – is getting a raw deal. I saw the reports: Japan's export growth is slowing down thanks to these tariffs from the U.S. Exports to the U.S. dropped 1.8%. That's like someone messing with one of my cars – unacceptable!
Quarter Mile At A Time
Now I'm no economist but I know a thing or two about pressure. And when someone puts the squeeze on you you gotta push back. Japan's trade surplus with the U.S. went down. They're feeling the heat and it ain't from NOS. But like I always say you live your life a quarter mile at a time. Focus on the moment and don't let fear cloud your judgment.
Cars Tariffs and Trust
They're hitting Japan where it hurts: their cars! Exports of transport equipment including cars are down. Now you know I love my cars. They are more than metal they are family! So when I hear Japan is being charged extra for its vehicles steel and aluminum it's like someone's messing with my ride. And nobody messes with my ride.
Reciprocal? More Like Retaliation!
This Trump guy slapped these 'reciprocal' tariffs on almost everyone including Japan. Reciprocal? Sounds more like retaliation to me. He suspended them temporarily but that's like saying you're gonna give someone a head start in a race before slamming the brakes on them. It is a show of power and I respect that but family does not do that to family.
Dragging on GDP Growth
Some egghead named Abhijit Surya is saying these tariffs are gonna keep dragging down Japan's GDP. He even thinks the central bank will delay raising interest rates. These numbers guys and their fancy graphs... all I know is when things slow down you gotta find a way to floor it. Shift gears find a new angle but never back down.
No Deal Is Better Than a Bad Deal
Japan's negotiator Ryosei Akazawa is standing firm. He's saying they won't rush into a deal if it hurts their interests. That's what I'm talking about! Family first remember? And a bad deal is worse than no deal at all. It's like trusting someone who's already shown you their true colors. I'd rather go it alone than betray my family.
