A Desert Bloom of Silicon and Sand?

My loyal subjects Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen First of Her Name Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons brings you tidings from a land far far from the chill winds of Winterfell. It seems even the desert blooms with ambition these days. The U.S. tech giants those purveyors of the digital age are flocking to the United Arab Emirates like Dothraki to a wedding feast. Nvidia Cisco Oracle and even the whisperers at OpenAI (are they breeding dragons too perhaps?) are backing the 'UAE Stargate' artificial intelligence data center. Five gigawatts they say! Enough to power a thousand Iron Thrones or perhaps more realistically enough to fuel the nightmares of a thousand Joffrey Baratheons.

Blackwell's Brawn and Oracle's Wisdom (or Scheming?)

Nvidia the masters of silicon sorcery will be supplying the hardware with their latest Blackwell GB300 systems. Apparently these chips are so powerful they could probably calculate the odds of Jon Snow ever understanding basic politics. Oracle led by the silver tongued Larry Ellison is also involved continuing his…shall we say…'close' relationship with the Stargate project. One wonders is he hoping to predict the weather better than those Maesters at the Citadel? Or perhaps he has his eye on a new kind of 'Iron Throne' powered by AI.

Trump's Long Shadow: Is He the Architect of This New Order?

The article speaks of a collaboration with President Trump's own AI infrastructure project. Trump in the desert? 'Fire and Blood' indeed. He's been spending time with kings in the sand as well as Nvidia's Jensen Huang OpenAI's Sam Altman SoftBank's Masayoshi Son and Cisco's Jeetu Patel. It makes one wonder what deals are being struck in those gilded tents and whether they'll benefit the many or just the few. I for one remember the cost of broken promises and the weight of a thousand betrayals.

Abilene to Abu Dhabi: A Global Game of Code and Conquest

OpenAI the minds behind the all knowing 'dragons' of the internet is also considering building U.S. Stargate data center campuses in sixteen states. Construction is underway in Abilene Texas. One can only hope this 'Stargate' will lead to prosperity and not to unforeseen dangers. Knowledge is power as they say but power without wisdom is a dragon without a rider. And we all know how that ends.

Saudi Arabia Joins the Fray: Chips for the Khaleesi?

Not to be outdone Saudi Arabia is also diving headfirst into the AI game. Nvidia will sell 18,000 Blackwell chips to Saudi company Humain destined for data centers totaling 500 megawatts. AMD will be supplying chips to Humain as well and Humain has pledged $10 billion to the project. Will these chips bring prosperity or will they fuel a new arms race in the digital realm? Time will tell my friends. Time will tell. I am no ordinary woman. My dreams come true.

A Queen's Caution: Is This a Game Worth Playing?

So what does this all mean my loyal subjects? Is this the dawn of a new age where knowledge and technology bring prosperity to all? Or is it a dangerous game where the few control the many through algorithms and data? As your Queen I urge caution. Let us not be blinded by the promise of power and let us remember the lessons of history. For as I have learned the game of thrones… or the game of data is always a dangerous one. And remember my dragons are always watching.
