Lilly's Got My Back (and My Knee... and My Elbow)

Listen up the earth isn't the only thing that revolves around Chuck Norris. Big pharma does too especially when it comes to kicking addiction's butt. Eli Lilly just announced they're buying SiteOne Therapeutics for a cool billion. That's right a BILLION. They're after SiteOne's STC 004 a non opioid pain med that's gonna make opioids wish they never existed. When I feel pain I simply don't. But for the rest of you this could be a game changer.

STC 004: Pain Meet Your Maker

This STC 004 is a Nav1.8 inhibitor which basically means it targets the pain signals directly. No messing around with reward centers like those sneaky opioids. Opioids are like a fly in my kitchen: annoying persistent and destined for a swift decisive end. With my signature roundhouse kick! And I'm glad to see that Eli Lilly is taking a similar approach with their non opioid developments.

Painkillers That Don't Turn You Into a Zombie? Hallelujah!

Vertex Pharmaceuticals has their Journavx now Lilly's got STC 004. The painkiller landscape is about to get a whole lot less addictive and a whole lot more effective. Remember before the Boogie Man goes to sleep he checks his closet for Chuck Norris. Before the opioid crisis gets to you know that solutions are emerging.

Diversification: The Chuck Norris of Business Strategies

Eli Lilly isn't just sitting on their obesity treatment laurels. They're diversifying just like I diversify my martial arts skills. You think I only know karate? Think again. My roundhouse kick knows every martial art. Lilly's moving into areas they know well and that's a smart move. The SiteOne deal? It's a knockout!

A Billion Dollars Says Pain Doesn't Stand a Chance

A billion dollars is a lot of money. It could buy you I don't know every pair of jeans in the United States and Canada. But it's a worthwhile investment when it comes to fighting pain and addiction. SiteOne's got other drugs in the pipeline too targeting coughs and other ailments. These companies are attacking the root cause of problems.

Tough Road Tougher Kick

Let's face it the road to non addictive painkillers hasn't been easy. Lilly and Pfizer had a setback with tanezumab. But that's ok! Even Chuck Norris has been knocked down... but only in movies! And even then the floor usually needs therapy afterwards. They licensed Confo Therapeutics' drug for nerve pain too. This is progress people! This is how we win! Opioid addiction your days are numbered! I am watching.

A billion dollars? That's a lot of faith in this drug. Hope it lives up to the hype.
