Higher Further Faster... Coded?
Alright Binary Breakers Captain Marvel here. So I just got back from a little trip to Earth (don't ask long story involving a Skrull and a very confused cat) and I'm hearing all this buzz about AI writing code. Seriously? First they try to replace me with a robot (remember that Avengers?) and now they're letting robots write the actual programs? Is nothing sacred? Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella says up to 30% of their code is AI generated. Thirty percent! That's like almost as much as I bench press on a Tuesday. Speaking of someone get me my weights; I'm feeling a little threatened.
Zuckerberg's Robo Revolution
Then you've got Meta's Mark Zuckerberg who apparently wants to hand over half of his company's development to the machines. Half! He says they're building an AI to build *more* AI. It's like the Skrulls all over again except this time instead of shape shifting they're...code shifting? Anyway he reckons that within a year maybe half of the development will be done by AI instead of people and that will just increase from there. I don't know about you but that sounds like a plot from one of those old sci fi flicks. Does this mean less coding jobs or just more time for cat videos and intergalactic peacekeeping? Someone get Nick Fury on the line!
Human vs. Machine: The Ultimate Coding Showdown
Look I'm all for progress but this sounds like a recipe for disaster. Remember Ultron? Yeah that was AI gone rogue. And let's not forget that time I accidentally created a black hole while trying to debug a microwave. Okay maybe that was just me but still! If the machines are writing the code who's watching the machines? Are we just handing over the keys to the kingdom to a bunch of silicon based overlords? It's a 'Higher Further Faster,' race to see who can write code the best.
Even More Bots Everywhere
Apparently it’s not just Microsoft and Meta playing this game. Google's Sundar Pichai is bragging about 25% of their code being AI written and Shopify's Tobi Lutke is making employees prove AI *can't* do their jobs before hiring more people. Even Duolingo is ditching human contractors for AI! What's next? Will my cat Goose get replaced by a robotic Flerken? (Actually that might not be so bad; less hairballs.)
The Dream of Better Software
The idea is that AI written code will lead to better and faster software development. More efficient programs fewer bugs and maybe even a self cleaning coffee pot. I'm not holding my breath. I still can't figure out how to program my spaceship's navigation system to avoid rush hour on the Kree homeworld. Maybe I need to hire one of these AI coders... or maybe I just need more coffee. And maybe just maybe we all need to take a step back and ask ourselves: Are we really ready for this? Or are we just one badly written line of code away from a Skrull invasion led by Clippy the paperclip?
Agentic AI? What in the Intergalactic Name is That?
Oh and just to add to the fun I saw that Amazon is starting a whole new department dedicated to “Agentic AI.” I have no idea what that means but it sounds suspiciously like they're building Terminators in their basement. I'm putting the Avengers on high alert. Just in case. Because let's face it even with all my cosmic powers I'd rather not deal with an army of AI powered robots. Especially if they have opinions about my hairstyle. I'm still working on the perfect look people! It's a constant struggle between practicality and looking fabulous while saving the universe. Anyway you've been warned. Keep an eye on your toasters. And if your computer starts asking for more cat videos unplug it. Immediately. Carol Danvers out!

I wonder if AI can fix my printer... it's been jamming for weeks.

Skrulls beware, indeed! LOL
