Blasting Off to New Heights
Greetings Starforce recruits! Your Captain Marvel here reporting from the front lines of… the stock market? Yeah even intergalactic heroes gotta keep an eye on earthly matters. And let me tell you Nvidia is having a real ‘higher further faster’ moment. Their shares shot up like I do when chasing a Skrull infiltrator hitting a record close for the first time since January. Who knew Earthlings could be so excited about...chips?
From Zero to Hero (Chip Edition)
For those of you not fluent in tech speak (and let’s be honest who *is*?) Nvidia makes these things called GPUs. Apparently they’re the brains behind all this AI stuff everyone's buzzing about. And despite some… *complications* with the second biggest economy on your planet (China) Nvidia's stock is currently trading at $151.92 which would put it past its closing high of $149.43 on Jan. 6. They're now the biggest company on Earth worth $3.7 trillion. Take that Ronan! I always knew tech was more powerful than a universal weapon.
Microsoft in the Rearview Mirror
Now I know what you're thinking: “But Captain Marvel what about Microsoft? Didn't they used to be the big kahuna?” Well yes young padawans they were. But even mighty empires can be overtaken. Microsoft bless their digital hearts is now in Nvidia's cosmic dust along with Apple. It's like when I had to explain to Fury that yes even S.H.I.E.L.D. had to adapt to new threats. Change is the only constant even in the galaxy (and the stock market apparently).
China Crisis? More Like China… Challenge!
Okay so here’s the tricky part. Due to some Earthly political wrangling Nvidia is essentially locked out of the Chinese market. Apparently some rules got put in place (thanks Trump admin) causing Nvidia to lose out on some serious moolah (that's Earth slang for money). I'm no economist but I know a Kree when I see one and trade wars are almost as annoying. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said last month that "The $50 billion China market is effectively closed to U.S. industry,". Ouch!
Data Centers to the Rescue!
But fear not citizens! Even with the China hiccup Nvidia is still soaring. Their data center business is booming revenue is up by a whopping 69% and analysts are predicting even more growth in the future. It's like when I accidentally blew up a Kree warship but managed to save a whole planet in the process. Sometimes you gotta take a hit to come out even stronger.
Shareholder Shenanigans and Three Horsemen
So Nvidia is having their annual shareholder meeting. I'd attend but I'm kinda busy saving the universe. Speaking of which some Earthling said "You can't mess with the three horsemen — Nvidia Broadcom and TSMC". I wonder what Fury would say about that? Probably something about needing a bigger spaceship. Anyway keep an eye on Nvidia recruits. They're proving that even on Earth you can always fly higher further faster!
