Why is the rum always gone? And Disney Stock Always a Good Bet?
Savvy? It's Cap'n Jack Sparrow here reporting live (sort of) from the deck of… well let's just say a very comfortable hammock. Word on the seven seas (and CNBC apparently) is that Disney be lookin' shipshape and Bristol fashion! Jim Cramer that landlubber reckons Disney's shares 'can go much higher.' Higher you say? Why that's almost as high as my expectations when I find a bottle of rum that isn't empty! Apparently this 'Lilo & Stitch' remake be makin' waves bigger than the Kraken's tentacles. Seems the whole world's gone daft for a blue alien and a Hawaiian girl. Go figure. But it's all good for Disney stock I tells ye!
Box Office Booty: More Doubloons Than Davy Jones' Locker!
Now here's the kicker: this 'Lilo & Stitch' flick hauled in $183 million in the U.S. and Canada alone over the Memorial Day weekend. That's more gold than you'd find in Davy Jones' locker! And globally? A whopping $314 million! It even left Tom Cruise's latest impossible mission in the dust. Talk about a walk in the park! Disney shares are already doing a jig up 2% on the news. Clearly the rum is working its magic but the box office gold is working even better! Savvy?
Disney's Secret Treasure: A Return to the Roots!
Cramer claims the secret sauce to Disney's success is that they're 'returning to their roots.' Meaning family friendly swashbuckling adventures and nary a hint of political nonsense. It’s about time. No political nonsense just good ol' fashioned money spinning entertainment. This is exactly what the world needs: more of what brings people together and less of what tears them apart! Perhaps it's time for a return to the Golden Age of Piracy! But I digress...
Bob Iger: The Captain Steering the Ship Right!
Ahoy mateys! Credit where credit is due. It seems that Bob Iger the top dog at Disney deserves a hearty 'yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!' for prioritising profitability creative control and franchise based storytelling. And they even hired a new CFO Hugh Johnston to keep the coffers full. Iger signaled confidence in "Lilo & Stitch" during the company's strong second quarter earnings earlier this month given the "enormous" tracking ahead of the release and he was right on the money!
Undervalued Treasure? Dig Deep Me Hearties!
Despite all the good news Cramer reckons Disney stock is 'nowhere where it should be.' Says the company has more earning power especially with its film and theme park divisions firing on all cylinders. So me hearties if you're lookin' for some treasure now might be the time to dig! After all why drink rum when ye can own the whole distillery?
Disclaimer? What's a Disclaimer When There's Gold to Be Made?
Aye there's always a catch isn't there? Cramer's Charitable Trust *is* long on DIS. And there be rules and conditions and privacy policies and disclaimers… Blimey! Too much paperwork for a pirate like me! Just remember no outcome or profit is guaranteed. But hey no risk no reward right? Now where did I bury that map to the hidden rum stash…?
