The Mother of Dragons reports on the recent oil market rollercoaster, where a potential ceasefire between Iran and Israel, coupled with Trump's hints at easing sanctions, has sent prices tumbling faster than a Lannister soldier after a feast.

A Song of Oil and Fire (and Then… Nothing?)

Hmph another week another war... or so it seemed. This recent squabble between Iran and Israel sent the oil markets into a frenzy more chaotic than a Dothraki wedding. Prices surged higher than Drogon soaring over Meereen only to come crashing down harder than the Iron Throne after my nephew’s… unfortunate reign. Apparently the fate of Westeros I mean the world's oil supply hangs on the whims of politicians and their little skirmishes. Where was I when all of this was happening? Oh yeah trying to convince the Dothraki to stop setting things on fire. Some things never change.

Trump's Tariff Tantrums: The Mad King of Oil?

Before this whole 'fire and fury' show the markets were already lower than Tyrion's stature thanks to talks of Trump's tariffs. Honestly it's like dealing with another Joffrey—predictably impulsive and prone to making rash decisions that hurt everyone else. Now he's hinting at loosening sanctions on Iran? Is he trying to bankrupt the Seven Kingdoms (err the global economy) or what? It’s as confusing as understanding Varys’ true loyalties.

OPEC+ or OPEC ? More Like OPEC…Ugh.

OPEC and its allies are pumping out oil faster than the Unsullied can march. It's as if they're trying to flood the market with so much crude that we'll all be swimming in it. It reminds me of those times Cersei tried to drown King’s Landing in wildfire—except you know less… incendiary. The impact on prices? Lower than the honor of a Frey at a wedding.

The $5 Range: A Cage More Golden Than the One Qarth Gave Me

Experts are predicting a steady price range. A paltry 5 dollar range. Is that all? After all that chaos we’re just waddling in place? It’s like being stuck in Meereen all over again waiting for something exciting to happen. I suppose even dragons need a break from flying occasionally.

China and Iranian Oil: A New Alliance or Just Another Fleeting Betrayal?

Ah China. Always ready to buy up whatever everyone else is trying to get rid of. Trump seems willing to let them buy Iranian oil perhaps to keep the peace or perhaps he just wants to appear reasonable for once. But the real question is can we trust China? Their diplomatic methods can be as subtle as a White Walker attack... though the White Walkers had the excuse of being the army of the dead. Like Littlefinger always said 'Chaos is a ladder'. But the chaos must be carefully managed otherwise you end up at the bottom.

Ceasefire Maybe? Talks Unlikely? The Future of Oil is as Clear as a Dragon's Breath.

So we have a ceasefire maybe. Talks between the US and Iran? Unlikely for the moment. Another expert said 'incentives are aligned for the ceasefire to hold'—a polite way of saying everyone’s tired of fighting. I know the feeling. But don't get complacent. This could all change faster than you can say 'Dracarys!' In the meantime let's all keep an eye on those oil prices and pray we don't end up back at square one. Or worse with another season of Game of Thrones written by people who clearly never met a dragon!
