Fearless Foodie Fortunes

Okay Swifties let's talk Cava! Apparently while everyone else in the restaurant world is feeling like they're 'in the woods,' Cava is out here sparkling like a disco ball. Their latest quarter? 'Better Than Revenge' (for the other chains that is). Same store sales jumped 10.8%! I mean I knew Mediterranean food was good but this is 'Love Story' levels of success.

Style (of Eating): Premium is the New Black

CFO Tricia Tolivar (who let's be real probably has 'All Too Well' playing on repeat in her office) says people are splurging on the good stuff – pita chips and fancy juices. I get it. Sometimes you just gotta treat yourself you know? Plus everyone's average order is going up. Maybe they're all ordering extra for their 'Blank Space'... in their stomachs. And it’s across all demographics! Which means everyone from the Lover house to the Reputation era folks are craving the bowls and pitas!

Shake It Off (the Competition)

Here's where it gets juicy. While Cava is thriving Chipotle's transactions are down (ouch) Sweetgreen is declining and even McDonald's is feeling the burn. It's like Cava is saying 'Look What You Made Me Do' to the competition! Apparently people are trading down from fancy restaurants and up from… well you know. So Cava is like the 'gold rush' of fast casual right now.

The 1 (Forecast)

Despite the stellar performance Cava is playing it cool. They're sticking to their original forecast of 6 8% growth. Maybe they're being 'delicate'? Or maybe they just don't want to jinx it. Honestly I respect the chill. But still are we in the clear? Only 'time will tell…'

Bad Blood (on the Stock Market)?

Okay not everything is perfect. The stock dipped a bit. Investors are worried about their 'conservative' outlook. But let’s be real “haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate.” Plus this dip is nothing that a good album release and tour can't fix right? Maybe Cava needs a little 'Red (Taylor's Version)' era to boost those numbers!

Long Live Cava?

Overall Cava's doing pretty darn well. They're raking in the dough opening more locations and generally living their best life. They even increased their projections for earnings! And revenue surpassed $1 billion!!! Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to get a Cava bowl. Because let's be honest 'this is why we can't have nice things'...unless we're talking about delicious Mediterranean food!
