Why is the Broadband Always Gone?!

Savvy? It appears even the mightiest of ships can take on water. Comcast a name whispered with both awe and… well less awe these days has seen its broadband business facing the rising tide of competition. Aye 199,000 customers walked the plank! Alternatives be swarming like barnacles on a galleon's hull – 5G fixed wireless the whole shebang! Domestic broadband revenue may be up a tad but the storm clouds are gatherin'. As I always say 'The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem.' And right now Comcast's attitude needs a shot of rum!

Xfinity Mobile Sails On!

But fear not me hearties! Not all is doom and gloom. Comcast's mobile business is sailin' smoother than the Flying Dutchman on a calm day. Revenue's up 16% and they've hauled in 323,000 new lines! Seems they're shiftin' focus to this here treasure trove after seein' the broadband winds change. Smart move I say! 'If you were waiting for the opportune moment that was it.' Now to find me a mobile plan that includes unlimited rum calls…

The Curse of Cable TV

Argh cable TV! Like a cursed Aztec gold coin it's weighin' down the ship. 427,000 customers abandonin' ship? The bundle be bleedin' worse than a pirate after a duel with Barbossa. 'This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow!' Er I mean the day you cut the cable cord. So the Xfinity brand seems to be battling the Black Pearl losing customers left and right!

Peacock's Strut: A Streaming Success!

Now let's talk about Peacock. Not the bird mind you but the streaming service. This little fledgling is learnin' to fly! Revenue's up losses are down and they've got 41 million paid subscribers! They're crackin' down on password sharing those sly dogs. It's a good thing. Even I Captain Jack Sparrow knows that sharing be stealin'… unless it's rum of course. 'Why is the rum always gone?' Because someone else has always taken it savvy!

Theme Park Turbulence

Even theme parks aren't safe from a bit of rough weather. Revenue's down thanks to those blasted Los Angeles wildfires keepin' the landlubbers away. But fear not! Universal Epic Universe be on the horizon promisin' thrills and spills galore! And a new park in the UK? Seems they are ready to take on Disney! 'I love those moments. I like to wave them goodbye as they pass' Comcast is betting on a resurgence!

Earnings Ahoy!

So to sum it all up Comcast's first quarter be a mixed bag. Earnings per share be up revenue be slightly down but some segments are shinin' brighter than a gold doubloon. They're spinnin' off some networks Peacock be struttin' its stuff and mobile be holdin' strong. 'Not all treasure is silver and gold mate.' Sometimes it's a clever business strategy.
