Hey everyone it's Goku! I heard about these 'tariffs' that President Trump is throwing around and man they sound tougher than a Super Saiyan bargain sale! Apparently they're gonna make things more expensive for Boeing Airbus and GE Aerospace. Even Dak Hardwick some big shot at the Aerospace Industries Association is scratching his head saying 'It certainly makes things more expensive for the industry.' More expensive?! That's like saying Vegeta has a slight ego problem! It's a big deal especially since the aerospace industry helps the U.S. trade deficit by like over $100 billion a year! That's a lot of Senzu Beans!

A 45 Year Old Trade Agreement?!

So it seems like there's this really old trade agreement like older than Master Roshi's dirty magazines that lets everyone trade planes and parts without paying extra. But now Trump wants to throw a wrench in the works with these new tariffs. They're slapping a 10% tax on stuff coming from other countries and even more on some especially places like Europe! That's where they get a lot of airplane parts. Boeing's CEO Kelly Ortberg is sweating bullets saying 'Free trade is very important to us.' No kidding! It's like saying training is important for a Saiyan! If they can't sell planes overseas it's gonna be tougher to keep making jobs in the U.S. This trade agreement has been in place for 45 years! I was still a kid then chasing after Grandpa Gohan! Talk about a throwback huh?

White House Smokescreen!

Apparently Trump's team is saying that if you make stuff in America you're good to go. But here's the kicker: even if the plane is 'Made in the USA,' it probably has parts from all over the place! It's like trying to find a pure Saiyan these days! White House spokesman Kush Desai said that if you make your product in America you won't have to worry about tariffs but it is NOT that simple!

The Price?! IT'S OVER 9000!

Here's the thing: tariffs are paid by the importer so the price of planes and engines could go up. Then everyone gets the short end of the stick. Prices are negotiated way in advance and airlines have to wait forever for new planes. It's not like buying a car! Dak Hardwick compared the pricing as not 'where you put money down for an automobile and it ends up in your driveway' in three months. It's a mess! No wonder Boeing's stock is dropping faster than Yamcha in a fight!

Global Mess

This isn't just an American problem it's a global one! The supply chain for airplanes stretches all over the world. Even if they slap a 'Made in the USA' sticker on a Boeing 787 it's got parts from Japan Italy and who knows where else! It's like trying to find a planet without any weird aliens – impossible! Even Airbus which has a factory in Alabama still gets hit with tariffs on parts they import from Europe. It is a global mess!

No Such Thing as a National Jet!

So even though General Electric makes engines with a French company Safran they both have to send parts back and forth. Plus all those replacement parts for planes and engines are gonna get more expensive too. Richard Aboulafia at AeroDynamic Advisory hit the nail on the head: 'There's no such thing as a national jet.' It's like saying there's a Saiyan who doesn't like to fight! This whole thing is a mess! I hope they figure it out before it gets worse than when Frieza blew up Planet Vegeta!
