Disney Drops a HUGE Bag on Hulu! (MrBeast Style)

Alright crew MrBeast here! And today we're not just giving away islands or burying ourselves alive. We're talking BILLIONS! Specifically the $438.7 million Disney just YEETED at Comcast for full control of Hulu. That’s right they’re going all in like when I bought every item in a store… TWICE! You know I love big numbers and this one? It's HUGE!

The Great Hulu Heist (Not Really)

So what's the deal? Back in 2023 Disney said “Yoink! We want all the Hulu!” They already owned a big chunk thanks to grabbing Fox's stuff but they needed Comcast's 33% to complete the set. They even threw down $8.6 billion as a down payment setting Hulu's value at a cool $27.5 billion. Talk about a payday!

Appraisal Palooza!

Things got a little spicy with the appraisal process. Disney's people said Hulu was worth less than the minimum while Comcast's crew thought it was worth WAY more. Enter the third appraiser like the judge in a MrBeast challenge to settle the score. And BOOM! $438.7 million it is! I bet they had a pizza party to celebrate... though knowing me it would’ve been 10,000 pizzas!

Iger's Take: "Best of Luck!"

Disney CEO Bob Iger probably chilling in a money chair right now said they're happy it's all done. “We wish them the best of luck,” he said about Comcast. Classy! He's also stoked to mash up Hulu and Disney+ into one mega streaming beast and also the upcoming ESPN streaming app which sounds like a winning play. Think of it like combining my challenge videos with Chandler's fails – pure gold!

Peacock's Time to Shine!

Meanwhile Comcast's focusing on Peacock their own streaming thing. They're like "Hulu was a great start made us almost $10 billion! But we're gonna go build something even bigger!" Good for them! Competition makes everything more interesting just like when I pit Chris against Chandler in a hide and seek challenge. Hilarious chaos!

Subscribers Subscribers Everywhere!

Hulu's got over 50 million subscribers and Disney's streaming empire totals a whopping 180.7 million! But Comcast has 41 million so its not so bad! Numbers numbers numbers!
