I'm here to tell you about something almost as exciting as scoring a hat trick – Moderna's new flu vaccine! Apparently it's producing a stronger immune response than the usual stuff. That's like me compared to other players... *Siiiii!* Moderna withdrew an application seeking approval of its combination shot targeting Covid 19 and influenza saying it had plans to resubmit it with efficacy data from the phase three trial on its stand alone flu vaccine.

FDA? More Like 'Fine Data Accepted'!

Word on the street is that even the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) which is grappling with a massive overhaul under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a prominent vaccine skeptic is taking notice. Now I don't know much about politics but I know winning! Moderna plans to resubmit for the combination vaccine and file for approval of its stand alone flu shot later this year. If regulators approve the flu vaccine the company can then advance the combination shot Hoge said. He added that Moderna expects approvals for both shots next year pending reviews. If this vaccine were a player it would have to undergo my rigorous training.

Show Me The Money!

According to Stephen Hoge the head of research and development this combination jab simplifies vaccination. Less work for the doctors and nurses lower costs and more people getting their shots. Everyone wins! I like winning. And Moderna apparently thinks they can grab a 'fair share' of the multi billion dollar markets of Covid flu and respiratory syncytial virus. This is like me saying I'll score a few goals... it's expected!

Numbers Don't Lie (Just Ask My Goal Count)

The vaccine called mRNA 1010 was tested on over 40,000 adults aged 50 and above. The result? It was 26.6% more effective than the standard vaccine. 26.6%! That's almost as good as my free kick conversion rate! It also works on all the major flu strains. No matter your age or risk factors this vaccine is here to help. In adults ages 65 and older the shot was 27.4% more effective than the standard flu vaccine.

Even CR7 Gets Sick! (But Not For Long!)

They even brought up the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) saying that flu related hospitalizations were at a 15 year high! That's a lot of sick people! Nobody wants to be in the hospital when they could be watching me score goals. Moderna's CEO even said that the past flu season showed the need for better vaccines. Finally someone gets it. The mRNA 1010 vaccine's safety data was consistent with previous results from another phase three study on the shot.
