Is This the Future? I Make it Look Easy But What About Them?
Listen people Cristiano here! I've been scoring goals and breaking records for years. Now I hear there's a new kid on the block in the car world – Slate Auto. They're building these electric pickup trucks in Detroit backed by the big boss Bezos himself. Apparently they are trying to make it “affordable.” Affordable? Hmm let's see if they can deliver. I always deliver! Remember talent without working hard is nothing. Who knows about the product quality of these "affordable" vehicles only time will tell.
Bare Bones and Bold Claims: Stripping Down to the Essentials
They’re going back to basics two seats crank windows and no fancy infotainment systems. It's like they're trying to build a car for people who hate technology or maybe they are planning on giving the cars to people who live under a rock. The CEO says it's a 'radically simple radically affordable radically personalizable car.' Radically simple? Sounds like my old flip phone. Personalizable? Hopefully they have options to add some serious bling. I need my cars to shine brighter than my Ballon d'Or trophies you know? Without dedication and hard work nothing ever comes from this maybe they will add the bling later?
100,000 Reservations? Sounds Like a lot of Love For a Car...
Slate is bragging about 100,000 reservations. Good for them! But reservations are just promises like when my friends say they'll meet me at the gym. I will believe it when i see it! They are raising millions of dollars for the project. It is a lot of money but i also get paid a lot of money to kick a ball so they might know what they are doing who knows? It takes more than money to become the best.
Less Parts More Problems? Simple Ain't Always Easy.
They're trying to build it with fewer parts like they're building it with IKEA furniture. Less parts may not always be a good thing. Hopefully this simple car is not simple and boring. My cars must have high end technology that is how i roll! “Fundamentally there's no new technology because technology costs money to develop,” one of the guys from the company said. Hmmm money always a challenge. But they are talking about battery ranges 150 miles or 240 miles for longer range. Not bad but I've sprinted further than that in a single game! Siuuuuuu!
Customization Chaos? Making the Car Your Own... Or Losing Your Mind in Options?
Okay this is where it gets interesting. They have 160 options for customization! Decals lighting audio wheels... It's like choosing my next hairstyle too many choices! It will be a chaos trying to choose all of that. I can already imagine the headache. The company wants us to spend even more money to pimp up our cars... Interesting. They are definitely playing the game in their own way.
Will Slate Auto Score a Goal? The Skeptics Are Watching!
The experts are already doubting them. Limited market EV adoption tax credits... It's a tough game even harder than scoring against 11 defenders. I've heard some other EV startups have failed miserably. Hopefully they do not become another statistic right? But seriously good luck to Slate Auto. The world needs more competition and maybe they'll actually deliver on this whole 'affordable' thing. But remember even if they fail they tried. Just like me always striving for greatness. Siuuuuuu! Maybe I'll buy one... or two... or ten. Just to see what all the fuss is about. Maybe I can learn to drive without someone driving me around all the time.
