Credits Will Do Fine But AI is Better
I've seen a lot of strange things out in the galaxy. Jawas selling scrap Mandalorians arguing over beskar but this whole 'artificial intelligence' thing...it's got potential I tell you what. This article I picked up says these small businesses in Southeast Asia are starting to use AI to stay alive. Apparently it's 'grow or die' out there just like dealing with a Krayt dragon. Professor Jochen Wirtz calls it you either grow and adopt or you die. Sounds about right. This is the Way...to not getting vaporized by the competition.
Beskar Brains: AI's Economic Impact
This 'Boston Consulting Group' claims AI could add $120 billion to the region's GDP by 2027. That's a lot of credits even by Hutt standards. And Google's e Conomy SEA 2024 report shows there's a lot of interest in AI. Singapore Philippines and Malaysia are curious. Seems like even the locals know a good blaster when they see one. A new weapon the AI is a tool and like any tool it's how you use it that matters.
Younglings and the Force (of AI)
Turns out having a bunch of young'uns running things is a good thing. Vietnam Malaysia the Philippines – they got the most business leaders under 40. Soumik Parida from RMIT University Vietnam says they're 'internet savvy' and adapt to new tech easily. Good. They'll need that if they want to keep up with the bigger players. No disintegrations!
This is the Way to Use AI: Customer Service and More
So how are these folks using AI? Mostly for customer service marketing and advertising. Makes sense. Can't be wandering around the galaxy all day looking for clients. Lita Global this gaming platform in Indonesia is using AI to translate event announcements into different languages. They said it doubled their events monthly thanks to greater efficiency. More events more credits. That's the way. No room for useless parts.
Live Long and Stream
And here's a new one: AI livestreaming. Apparently it's like having a host show off products but it's an AI. Jensen Wu from TopviewAI says it costs about $1 per minute way cheaper than hiring a real person. One person can monitor the livestream and that's it. I still prefer a real person but credits are credits. Sometimes your only option is the AI livestreaming.
The Price of Progress: Credits and Concerns
Now here's the catch. This AI stuff ain't cheap. Chatbots for simple tasks are affordable but anything more complex costs serious credits. Lita Global spends $2,000 a month on AI. But hey Gartner thinks the price will drop by 2027. So maybe everyone can afford a decent AI sidekick someday. In the meantime better keep that beskar armor polished you'll have to earn your way. This is the Way until a better way comes along.
