Say My Name: Google's Hubris Bites Back
Well well well... looks like someone didn't learn their lesson about treading too heavily. The Japan Fair Trade Commission or JFTC just issued a cease and desist order to Google. Apparently they've been pulling a Heisenberg trying to control the Android search market like I used to control my... *ahem* ...product distribution. It seems even empires built on algorithms can crumble under the right pressure. Like they say tread lightly.
A Deal's a Deal... Unless It's Illegal
The JFTC is saying Google violated Japan's anti monopoly law. See Google licenses its Android OS to companies like Samsung and Lenovo. But just like me sweetening the deal to get Jesse on board Google requires these manufacturers to pre install and prominently feature Google Search and Chrome. They even made them exclude rival search services to get a slice of the advertising revenue pie. It's all about control isn't it? I get it. Power corrupts even digital power.
This is My Territory!
Let's be clear: forcing people to use your products is hardly a legitimate business model. It's like me saying 'You either buy my blue meth or you get nothing.' It might work for a while but eventually someone's gonna come knocking. And in this case that someone is the JFTC. They've been investigating Google since 2023 and finally dropped the hammer.
Global Domino Effect: Is Google Cooking?
This isn't just a Japanese problem folks. The JFTC coordinated with watchdogs in the U.S. and the UK where Google's been facing similar scrutiny. Remember the U.S. judge who ruled Google had an illegal monopoly? And the UK opening an investigation? It's a regular Jesse Pinkman level of mess for Google. Looks like the chickens are coming home to roost bitch!
The Prescription: Dial Down the Dominance
So what's the JFTC prescribing? Google has to stop forcing manufacturers to pre install their apps and relax those restrictive revenue sharing conditions. Let manufacturers choose what they want on their devices. They even have to appoint an independent third party to keep an eye on them for the next five years. Talk about micromanagement! It's like having a DEA agent breathing down your neck...wait...
Heisenberg's Advice: Stay Out of My Territory!
Look I'm no tech mogul but I know a thing or two about running a business. And the lesson here is simple: don't get greedy. Don't try to control everything. Because eventually someone bigger and badder will come along and take it all away. Now if you'll excuse me I have some chemistry to catch up on. Just remember my name.

About time! Their search results are rigged anyway.

Good! They deserve it.
