Alright guys so I hear this whole US China tariff situation is like a tense over. Apparently these tariff cuts even if they're just a 'temporary fix' are a big deal for Christmas presents. I mean think about it almost a fifth of U.S. retail sales happen during the holiday season. That's like the pressure of a World Cup semi final every year! It's a major issue and I am completely against any sort of trade that promotes such a cause. The whole situation reminds you that there are more important things than just economics. Walmart's Silent Treatment and China's Export Game
Walmart's being all mysterious about the impact. They're playing it cool probably waiting for their earnings call. Meanwhile China's exports to the U.S. dropped but their overall exports rose. Classic example of finding another gap when one is closed down. Goldman Sachs estimates millions of Chinese jobs depend on U.S. trade. It is pretty evident that these are big numbers so the governments must sort this out soon before it becomes a big issue.
The Long Game Is It Test Cricket or T20
So what does it all mean? These temporary tariff cuts are like a quickfire innings. They might give us some breathing room but the real test is whether the U.S. and China can sort out their differences for good. Until then we are all just waiting to see which way this match will swing. I'm always optimistic and I am sure that the governments will come together to achieve a win win situation here!
