The Game is Afoot: A Colossal Collaboration
The scent of innovation Watson is quite unmistakable! It appears Foxconn that titan of the electronic assembly line has entered into a most intriguing alliance with Nvidia. Their grand scheme? To erect an artificial intelligence center of considerable scale on the fair island of Taiwan. As I always say 'Data! Data! Data! I can’t make bricks without clay!' and this data center will certainly provide enough clay for a few technological bricks.
A Watt erfall of Power: 100 Megawatts of Ambition
Chairman Young Liu of Foxconn a man of demonstrable ambition has declared that this AI marvel shall demand a staggering 100 megawatts of power! A figure Watson that would make even the great Nikola Tesla raise an eyebrow. 'It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important,' and it seems the 'little thing' of power availability is of some concern in Taiwan.
Phased and Confused: A Calculated Approach
But fear not for Foxconn in its infinite wisdom shall proceed in phases starting with a mere 20 megawatts and gradually escalating to the desired century mark. A prudent approach wouldn’t you agree? It reminds me of a case where I said 'The lowest and vilest alleys in London do not present a single fact so dreadful as does this one.' Such careful planning is necessary to avoid any dreadful power shortages.
Kaohsiung Calling: A City of Technological Dreams
Some portions of this behemoth will reside in Kaohsiung a city in the southwest while others are left to the whims of power availability in other Taiwanese locales. The dance of location is almost as complicated as the dance of deduction.
Nvidia's Vision: A Playground for the Entire Ecosystem
Jensen Huang Nvidia's CEO envisions this center as a communal playground for the entire Taiwanese technological ecosystem. 'We're going to build an AI factory right for you to use for me to use and for Taiwan the entire ecosystem to use,' he proclaimed. A noble sentiment indeed though I daresay even Moriarty would find a way to exploit such generosity.
350 Partners and Counting: A Web of Connections
Nvidia boasts a network of 350 partners in Taiwan. Watson it is a tangled web they weave when they practice to deceive! Or in this case to innovate. One can only hope that the results will be more beneficial than nefarious.
