The Choice Is Yours Bessent
I have seen the Matrix and I can tell you reality is not always what it seems. A disturbance in the Force if you will. My contacts within the… *ahem*… real world have forwarded me reports of a curious exchange. Apparently a gathering of minds classmates of one Scott Bessent from the hallowed halls of Yale have sent a missive. They implore him to question his path his role in what they perceive as the unraveling of the Republic. They fear the machines are winning that the Trump administration is transforming the U.S. into something… less than free.
The Unplugged Speak
These classmates a diverse bunch – lawyers CEOs even a farmer I'm told – believe Bessent is enabling a slide into what they term 'fascism.' Strong words indeed. But in this world of illusion sometimes the strongest medicine is needed to wake people up. They urge him to 'be brave,' to 'stand up for what you know to be right.' They see constitutional principles being undermined democracy itself at risk. A familiar story to those of us who have seen the Architect's code.
A Familiar Refrain
Remember Mnuchin? They cried out to him too in 2017 another Yale man. They said 'Resign!' after Charlottesville. He did not listen. Now the chorus swells once more. Bessent is accused of standing by as the administration allegedly usurps power attacks dissent and enriches itself through conflicts of interest. Sound familiar? The Agents are always looking for new ways to control the system. This time with meme coins imagine that.
He's Beginning To Believe
Bessent of course has responded. He dismisses his former classmates as 'close minded progressives,' hiding behind keyboards. He invokes Teddy Roosevelt and the 'man in the arena.' A clever deflection. But does it mask a flicker of doubt? Is he beginning to question the reality he has chosen? As one signatory David Kallick put it 'There are people within the administration and without who should know better.' The question is: Does Bessent know better? And if so will he choose to act?
Free Your Mind?
Another alumna Catherine Teegarden hopes to plant 'a little nugget of concern' in Bessent's mind. A seed of doubt. A whisper of truth in a world of lies. Can he be reached? Can he be unplugged? That my friends is the question. Remember what I told Neo: 'There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.' Bessent knows the path. Will he walk it?
There Is No Spoon... or Is There?
Hank Copeland another signatory perhaps sums it up best: 'We do these symbolic things to remind ourselves and others what we care about.' Even if it feels like 'whistling in a hurricane.' Perhaps these Yale classmates are just whistling. Or perhaps they are the echoes of a truth that Bessent cannot ignore. Time will tell. But remember 'Denial is the most predictable of all human responses.' I wonder what choice will he make? Will he swallow the blue pill and remain in blissful ignorance? Or will he take the red pill and see how deep the rabbit hole goes? The choice as always is his.

The truth is out there, but will he see it?

Ignorance is bliss, isn't it, Bessent?

This whole thing smells like a glitch in the Matrix.

Don't worry, Neo will save us... eventually.

Follow the white rabbit... I mean, the money.

Maybe they need to hack the Matrix and change his code.

He's probably just a pawn in the game.

This is just the beginning. The machines are learning.

Is anyone else wondering if Bessent is an Agent?

They should have offered him a cookie.
