Tariffs? I Don't Know Her!
Darling in this city we're used to a certain amount of… drama. Political drama relationship drama the drama of finding a decent apartment with closet space. But even *I* was starting to feel the tariff tension. Then along comes Josh Brown from Ritholtz Wealth Management a modern day knight in shining armor (or maybe just a really well tailored suit). He boldly declared that AI *artificial intelligence* not those pesky tariffs is the real star of the stock market show. It made me wonder: could AI be the new black?
AI My New Boyfriend?
According to CNBC and let's face it if it's on CNBC it's practically gospel 'AI' was mentioned almost three times more than 'tariff' during the latest round of S&P 500 earnings reports. Which got me thinking: is AI the new boyfriend? More reliable than a commitment phobe writer definitely more exciting than another night at a gallery opening and certainly less likely to leave you for a younger model. Perhaps AI and I could grab cosmos? Too far? I'll stick to my laptop.
Big Tech to the Rescue (and My Shoe Budget)
Apparently these big tech companies like Microsoft and Meta they're all in on AI. And guess what? Their success is basically what saved the entire stock market from a total April meltdown! Josh said these tech giants saved the market. Microsoft's numbers were so good the stock went up more than 20% this quarter! More importantly a healthy stock market means more money to spend on shoes. It's all connected darling everything is connected.
Is Nvidia the New Prada?
Now Josh is apparently obsessed with this chipmaker called Nvidia. He calls it the 'sun' of the AI solar system. 'It's the sun and AI is a solar system revolving around it,' he said. Which made me wonder is Nvidia the new Prada? The must have accessory for every tech savvy investor? The kind of thing you absolutely *need* to make your portfolio shine? I'm starting to think I need to buy some. For research of course.
Could AI Get Me a Book Deal?
So what does all this mean for us mere mortals the ones who are more likely to spend our days pondering the perfect shade of lipstick than the intricacies of the stock market? Well it means that AI is here to stay. It's not just about the stock market; it's about everything. Maybe AI can even write my next book! Although I suspect it would lack that certain... *je ne sais quoi*.
And In the End...
As I sit here tapping away on my laptop I can't help but wonder... is AI the answer to all our problems? Will it solve the mysteries of love the complexities of friendship the agony of choosing between Manolos and Jimmy Choos? Probably not. But it might just help me afford them. And in the city isn't that all that really matters?
