Money Manolos and a Market Rebound?

Darling you wouldn't believe the news. It seems even the economy is having a 'Sex and the City' moment – a fabulous if somewhat unexpected comeback! LVMH the house that Louis Vuitton built just announced better than expected sales for the year. Could this be the end of my cosmos fueled financial anxieties? Or at least a sign that I can finally afford those new Manolos I've been eyeing?

Euros Dollars and Designer Dreams

The numbers as Big would say are big. A staggering 84.68 billion euros in revenue! It's like finding a vintage Chanel bag at a thrift store – utterly delightful. Apparently Europe the U.S. and Japan are still indulging in the finer things. But Asia? Well let's just say they might need a little retail therapy Sex and the City style. After all as I always say "I like my money where I can see it: hanging in my closet."

Bernard's Bold Bet: Will Cognac Bounce Back?

Bernard Arnault the man at the helm seems optimistic even though his cognac sales have taken a hit. He's betting on a comeback and you know what? I'm kind of buying it. After all every good story has its dips and turns just like the plot of my life! Maybe all it needs is a new team – a little shake up can do wonders both in business and in love.

Sephora Saved the Day!

Turns out my fellow makeup junkies might be partly to thank. LVMH's selective retailing unit which includes Sephora did exceptionally well. So while the fashion and leather goods are still catching up at least we know that lipstick and bronzer are recession proof. As I always say “Beauty is fleeting but a really good lipstick lasts a lifetime!”

A Bellwether or Just a Blip?

They're calling LVMH a 'bellwether' for the luxury industry. Which basically means if they're doing well everyone else should be too. It's like when I started wearing nameplate necklaces – suddenly everyone had one! So fingers crossed this isn't just a flash in the pan. I need my designer fix and I'm sure I'm not alone!

From Rock Bottom to Retail Royalty!

And get this! LVMH is back on top surpassing some pharmaceutical giant to reclaim its title as Europe's most valuable company. It's a real Cinderella story only instead of a glass slipper it's a Birkin bag. So maybe just maybe we're heading into a new era of champagne wishes and caviar dreams. Now if you'll excuse me I have a date with a cosmos and a credit card...
