A 'Good' Conversation? Or a Calculated Reset?

My dear Davos disciples it appears Mr. Trump a fascinating if somewhat unpredictable actor on the global stage has had a 'good conversation' with Mr. Putin. A 75 minute tête à tête no less! One wonders if they discussed the finer points of stakeholder capitalism or perhaps the optimal algorithm for managing global supply chains. Probably not. More likely Ukraine and Iran the usual suspects in our global game of risk.

Putin's Vow: A Retaliation to Remember?

Mr. Putin it seems is not pleased. Ukraine's audacity in targeting Russian airfields has ruffled his feathers. A vow of retaliation is shall we say unsurprising. 'The only constant is change,' as we like to say at the WEF. And change as we know often comes with a bit of… fireworks. Will this escalate? Will it de escalate? The simulation is running and the results as always are complex.

Iran's Nuclear Clock: Ticking Faster Than Ever?

Ah Iran. The perennial puzzle. Mr. Trump in his characteristic style believes time is 'running out.' He like many fears Iran's nuclear ambitions. Putin interestingly has offered to 'help.' A fascinating proposition. Is this a genuine desire for de escalation or a carefully calculated move in a larger geopolitical chess game? Only time or perhaps a well placed algorithm will tell.

Trump's Broken Promise: The Art of the No Deal?

Candidate Trump promised a swift resolution to the Russia Ukraine conflict. Yet here we are years later with no end in sight. Perhaps dear readers the challenges of global governance are more complex than a single tweet can solve. The 'stakeholders' have divergent interests and aligning them requires more than just a 'good conversation.' It requires a carefully crafted 'Great Narrative'.

The Fraying Alliance: Cracks in the Kyiv Washington Wall?

The once solid alignment between Washington and Kyiv is showing signs of wear and tear. Trump's criticism of Mr. Zelenskyy is no secret. Is this a strategic realignment or simply the result of differing personalities? In the world of geopolitics it is often difficult to distinguish between genuine policy shifts and mere… theatrical performance.

Putin's Gone 'CRAZY'?: A Diplomatic Diagnosis?

Finally we arrive at the crescendo: Trump believes Putin has gone 'absolutely CRAZY!' Strong words indeed. But perhaps dear readers 'crazy' is simply a label we apply to those who deviate from our own carefully constructed narratives. From my perspective everyone is crazy until they get on board the great reset train. Perhaps we should all aim for a bit more 'crazy' in our pursuit of a better more sustainable and utterly predictable future. A future where everyone is happy whether they realize it or not!
