Dubai's Going Airborne Finally!
So I heard Joby Aviation's stock went up like one of my sixes – straight out of the park! Apparently they're launching air taxis in Dubai. Air taxis! Can you imagine? No more traffic jams just soaring over everyone else. It's like upgrading from a Test match to a T20 – way faster and much more exciting. JoeBen Bevirt the CEO called the UAE a 'launchpad for a global revolution.' Sounds ambitious but hey so was hitting sixes off Dale Steyn back in the day.
Exclusive Rights? Sounds Like My Kind of Deal
They've got exclusive rights in Dubai for six years. Six years! That's longer than I've spent without lifting weights. Dubai's Road and Transport Authority must be thinking ahead. They're building vertiports at the airport and in prime locations. I wonder if they'll have a 'Virat Kohli Special' vertiport? One can dream right? Imagine landing in style after a long tour avoiding the paparazzi like a boss!
Saudi Investment? Now That's What I Call a Power Play
And then there's the Saudi Arabian firm Abdul Latif Jameel dropping a billion dollars for 300 of these eVTOLs. A BILLION! That's enough to buy a lifetime supply of black water and probably a small island. Seriously though big investments show they're serious about this. It’s like when I decide to invest in a good innings full commitment.
Market Cap Soaring Higher Than My Fitness Goals
Their market cap is over $9 billion. Nine BILLION! That's more than my net worth... almost. Okay maybe not. But still it's impressive. It shows people believe in this air taxi dream. I mean who wouldn't want to fly over traffic? Regular vehicles consider this as your warning step aside!
Regulatory Hurdles? We've Faced Worse!
Of course there are regulatory and safety hurdles. But hey I've faced tougher bowlers in my career. Remember that bouncer from Mitchell Johnson? This is probably easier. Plus cutting traffic and emissions? Good for the planet. I'm all about that – gotta keep the environment fit just like my body.
Will Air Taxis have Gyms?
Imagine hopping into a flying taxi and reaching your destination in minutes. No more wasting time stuck in traffic! I am looking forward to this development and hope they have the option to add a gym in these air taxis. It would be great to workout while getting to my destination. And maybe just maybe they'll name one of these flying marvels 'King Kohli One'. After all a king should travel in style right?
