Clean Your Room: The Art of Political Tidying
Right so I've been looking at this Trump fellow's fundraising activities. Six hundred million dollars. That's a lot of lobsterbacks eh? Now whether this is a sign of a well ordered room or just a bigger pile of dirty laundry is the question. He's not running again so what's he doing with all that cabbage? According to sources—and you know how much I *love* anonymous sources—he's planning on backing his agenda and keeping the House and Senate red. Is this responsibility? Or just plain self interest? Well it's likely a bit of both wouldn't you say? The world is a dark forest and political maneuvering is just the wolves figuring out who gets to eat whom. It's all dominance hierarchies you see and Trump seems to be aiming for the top rung.
Beyond Chaos: Trump's Method to the Madness
They say Trump was never one for dialing for dollars. Now he's got a cash register in one hand and a Twitter account in the other. Funny how things change eh? He's reversing the trend of Democrats outraising the GOP which is a good thing because dominance of one ideological perspective is itself a danger. He seems to know that money equals power. It's about leverage influence and making sure his voice is heard even after he's technically no longer in the big chair. Sounds like a plan especially given that politics is the art of the possible. As I always say with great power comes great responsibility... or at least the *illusion* of responsibility.
Double Up: The Trumpian Call to Arms (and Wallets)
The day after his win he started calling. "Double up," he said. If you gave a million before give another million now. Seems fair. He knows his influence is highest right after winning before the disillusionment and betrayals set in. As it goes in politics. This is the point where you have the most freedom to move around the constraints and as they say impose yourself upon the world.
Campaigning While Governing: The Blurring Lines
He's headlining high dollar fundraisers mingling with crypto and AI innovators having fancy dinners at Mar a Lago. Democrats and campaign finance watchdogs are crying foul because of course they are. This blending of official and campaign business is probably a bit dodgy. But the rules have been weakened for years so it's like 'Well tough luck bucko I guess?' Maybe sort your own house out first. You want to criticize Trump fine but first make sure your own damn ducks are in a row. It's the principle of the thing see?
Holding the Line: Trump's Endgame
He's got his Super PACs his non profits his leadership PACs even Elon Musk is in the mix (bless his heart). All this to back his agenda and push his legislative priorities through Congress. He wants to avoid another impeachment and maintain his power through the end of his second term. The man's playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He wants to be very active. He said so himself. "I'm going to be very active." Right well better than just sitting around doing nothing I suppose. I think that's the most important thing. Have some direction in your life. Otherwise well the chaos will just swallow you whole. He's also demanding the Justice Department investigate ActBlue. Fair enough. If you want to bring order to things sometimes you have to start somewhere controversial.
Stingy or Strategic?: The Million Dollar Question
The real question is will he actually spend the money on other candidates or will he hoard it for himself? He's got a history of being a bit... thrifty. But maybe he's learned his lesson. One source says they wouldn't be surprised if his groups end up outspending the others. Maybe maybe not. As I've said before compare yourself to who you were yesterday not to who someone else is today. Trump's being measured by his past behavior he might have different plans that is something we have to consider. Regardless these congressmen and senators should be building their own professional operations. Don't rely on anyone else. Clean your own room after all. The future is uncertain so clean your room. Get your act together.
