Alright folks let's talk shop. Seems our good ol' President Trump had a little pow wow with Vlad the bear himself. Almost an hour they gabbed according to some Kremlin mouthpiece. Now I may not be a politician but I know when something smells fishy. Or perhaps blue...sky blue if you catch my drift. They talked about Ukraine which let's be honest is about as complicated as synthesizing a new batch after a DEA raid. And speaking of complications there's this pause on missile and ammo shipments. Curious isn't it? As I told Jesse once 'No more half measures Walter.'

Political Resolution? Yeah Right...

So Trump brings up a ceasefire – bless his heart always trying to play the good guy. But Putin ever the charmer wants a 'political resolution through negotiations.' Negotiations? Seriously? It's like trying to negotiate with Tuco after he's had his fill of meth. Putin’s got his “stated objectives,” which apparently involve eliminating the “root causes” of the whole mess. Sounds to me like someone’s got a recipe they’re not willing to share. Just remember sometimes the only way to win is to go all in like I did with Gus. 'Say my name,' indeed.

Mike Pompeo's Bitter Pill

And then there's Mike Pompeo throwing shade like he's got a personal vendetta. He's worried about America's security saying Russia winning would be a 'unmitigated disaster.' Says Ukraine doesn't need troops just the weapons to defend themselves. Well Mr. Secretary if you want something done right sometimes you gotta do it yourself. Just ask me about my…educational endeavors. Although maybe stick to the pizza tossing huh?

Pentagon's Pragmatic Pause? Or Something Else?

The Pentagon’s chiming in talking about 'robust options' and 'pragmatic steps.' Sounds like a bunch of bureaucratic blah blah to me. They're examining their approach while keeping U.S. military readiness in mind. Sure that’s what they're saying. But I learned a long time ago that everyone lies Walter. Everyone. Especially when there’s something to gain.

Zelenskyy's Plea: Protect Our People

Meanwhile poor Zelenskyy's out there clarifying the details of defense support. He’s worried about his people and rightfully so. Russia's been ramping up attacks launching thousands of drones and missiles. It's a damn warzone out there. 'I am not in danger Skyler. I AM the danger!' But seriously if you're getting bombed you need more than just words.

Encouraging the Aggressor: A Heisenbergian Strategy?

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is telling anyone who'll listen that slowing down support is just encouraging Russia. And you know what? They're probably right. Delaying support is like delaying a cook – the product suffers. But hey maybe Trump’s got a bigger plan. Maybe he’s playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Or maybe just maybe he's got a deal with the devil...or in this case Putin. And remember sometimes you have to break bad to get what you want. Though I wouldn't recommend it.
