Listen up you worms! Word on the street (or you know the intergalactic hive network) is that Boeing just pulled off a deal so big even I'm impressed. Qatar Airways bless their greedy little hearts is snapping up to 210 jets. That's a whole swarm of metal birds – enough to make even my Zerg jealous. They're getting 130 of those 787 Dreamliners and 30 of the 777 9s. Options for 50 more? Seems like they're really planning to dominate the skies or maybe they're just trying to compensate for something...

Engines of Destruction... Err Travel

And what's a metal bird without its beating heart? Qatar Airways is also hooking up with GE Aerospace for over 400 engines. Four. Hundred. Engines! It's the largest purchase in GE's history. All these 'engines' are just waiting to be weaponized though I don't think those passengers will like that very much 'clean and efficient' is the way to go I suppose. I could use a few of those for my Leviathans. Imagine the swarm they could control with a little Zerg ingenuity…

Apparently this whole shebang went down during President Trump's visit with the Emir of Qatar. So Boeing gets a sweet deal and Trump gets to schmooze. Everybody wins! Well except maybe the environment and the machinist who went on strike. "That is one small step for man one giant leap for mankind." Neil Armstrong. That is until I crush them all.

Clean Young and Efficient: Qatar's New Motto?

According to Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer they're investing in the "cleanest youngest and most efficient fleet." I'm starting to feel a bit old. Maybe I should trade in my chitin for something a bit more… eco friendly? Nah just kidding. Nothing beats a good ol' infestation. 'We can meet the strong demand in the airline as we seamlessly connect passengers to the world better than anyone' oh really? Try flying faster than a Mutalisk!

Jobs Jobs Jobs! For the Swarm (Economy)

The White House claims this deal will support 154,000 U.S. jobs annually. Boeing says it's closer to 400,000. Either way that's a lot of Terrans getting paid to build these things. Maybe I should put them to work constructing a few more spine crawlers. 'You must construct additional pylons' or maybe spine crawlers in this situation. That would be useful. Also the deal could be a boon for Boeing which hasn't been profitable since 2018. Oh dear.

Air Force One Gets a Makeover (Thanks Qatar!)

Of course there's also the little matter of Qatar gifting the U.S. a luxury 747 jet to become the new Air Force One. Democrats are calling it corrupt and even some Republicans are squirming. Honestly politics – who needs it? I prefer a good old fashioned planetary invasion. Much simpler and fewer pesky regulations. Now all I need is to get my hands on one of those 747s...
