TINA? Sounds Like a New Teammate!
Hola everyone! Leo Messi here your friendly neighborhood footballer. I hear there's this 'TINA' thing going on with the stock market. Apparently it stands for 'There Is No Alternative.' Reminds me of when defenders think there's no alternative to fouling me in the box… penalty! Anyway Goldman Sachs is saying this TINA is giving the market a boost. If they are right it will be a 'GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
Retirement Accounts: My Secret Weapon?
This guy David Kostin from Goldman Sachs he says retirement accounts are like my secret weapon for the stock market. All those 401(k) plans apparently they are buying up stocks like I buy up goals. He says that they are planning to buy $425 billion of equities this year. It will be even more goals that I have scored in my career. That's a lot of cheddar even for a guy who's seen a few paychecks in his time. They say a big part of the stock purchases are from people in their 20's. I started playing professionally at 17 so they are doing pretty well for themselves!
The S&P 500: Almost as Good as My Dribbling!
The S&P 500 is close to its peak just like I'm always close to scoring. Even with all the drama in the world from trade wars to geopolitical stuff it keeps bouncing back. You know kind of like when I get knocked down but then get right back up to score the winning goal. Always gotta keep pushing right?
Investor Sentiment: Needs a Little Messi Magic!
Apparently investors are still a bit gloomy. Their sentiment is 'depressed' they say. Sounds like they need a little Messi magic! Maybe I should give them a pep talk? Tell them to believe in themselves like I believe in my left foot. 'La pelota siempre al 10' remember that!
Households: The Real MVPs?
Kostin guy says households own a big chunk of the U.S. stock market. That means regular folks are the real MVPs here! As long as people have jobs and money in their pockets they will keep supporting the market. It's like when the fans support me – it gives me that extra boost to perform my best.
So Should You Invest? (Don't Ask Me I Just Kick the Ball!)
Look I'm not a financial advisor. I just kick the ball and I do it pretty well if I do say so myself. But it sounds like the experts think things are looking up for the stock market. So maybe it's a good time to get in the game? Or you know just keep cheering from the sidelines. Either way 'Visca el Barça!'...and good luck with your investments!
