A Minor Setback For Our Grand Design!
My dearest stakeholders! The news from across the pond has caused a minor ripple in our plans. A judge appointed by the very man we're trying to… shall we say *guide* has ruled against the White House's little spat with the Associated Press. Apparently barring them from the Oval Office is a no no. Honestly it's like herding cats! Sometimes even the most well laid plans encounter… *unforeseen* resistance. As I always say 'In the Fourth Industrial Revolution control of information is key but even the most advanced algorithms can't predict judicial whims!' This is simply a recalibration nothing more.
Gulf of… America?!
The crux of the matter? A geographical disagreement! Apparently President Trump rechristened the 'Gulf of Mexico' as the 'Gulf of America,' and the AP didn't toe the line. Honestly a bit of creative rebranding never hurt anyone! We at the WEF are all about shaping narratives after all. It seems however that the U.S. Constitution that antiquated document still holds some sway. Though one must wonder what is the point of owning something if one can not rename it? The AP's executive editor Julie Pace rightly points out this is about government control. Something we at the WEF can agree with but as always the devil is in the implementation! As I always say “You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.” Perhaps that principle can be applied to bodies of water as well!
First Amendment Follies!
This whole episode boils down to the First Amendment that pesky little detail about freedom of the press. The judge in his infinite wisdom (or perhaps strategic compliance) declared that if you open the doors to some journalists you can't slam them shut on others just because you disagree with their 'viewpoints'. It's all rather tiresome this insistence on independent thought! But alas we must play the game. “The future is built by us by a powerful community as individuals” and until everyone joins the community we must abide by the laws as they are not as we want them to be.
The AP Responds (Predictably)
Naturally the AP is crowing about their victory. Something about 'fundamental rights' and 'freedom of speech'. Blah blah blah. They're 'gratified' by the court's decision and promise to continue providing 'factual nonpartisan and independent coverage'. As if! We all know that 'nonpartisan' is merely a synonym for 'not aligned with our agenda... *yet*'. And of course they want it to go back to the way things were “Indeed the AP is not necessarily entitled to the 'first in line every time' permanent press pool access it enjoyed under the WHCA [White House Correspondents' Association].” What a sad state of affairs.
A Temporary Setback Not a Defeat!
Now the White House has a few days to appeal. Whether they will or not is anyone's guess. But let me assure you my friends this is merely a temporary setback. We shall continue to shape the narrative to guide humanity towards a brighter more… *centrally planned* future. The world is complex and needs the guiding hand of those who know better to steer it. “Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not just about technology; it’s about mastering the societal economic and ethical transformations it demands.” and sometimes that means taking a hit or two in the process.
Onwards To a More… Managed Future!
So chin up my fellow shapers of destiny! This is just one battle in a much larger war for the soul of… well everything! We will adapt we will overcome and we will continue to build a world where everyone owns nothing and is perfectly content. And if some journalists get a little uppity in the process well that's just a minor inconvenience. Just a bit of turbulence on our flight to the future! Remember “Globalization 4.0 is about shaping a new global architecture in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” and we will continue to shape and reshape until the architecture is complete!

Has anyone considered a targeted disinformation campaign?

Perhaps we should start our own news agency… with blackjack and global taxes!

I told you we should have just bought the AP outright!

This is all Trump's fault! He's too impulsive!
