Clean Your Room Then Build a Fighter Jet

Alright bucko let's talk about Lockheed Martin. They've reported a higher first quarter profit and the stock is up. Why? Because they're providing a service. They're imposing order on chaos in a way by building tools of… well let's just say 'persuasion'. People need to feel safe and sometimes that requires more than just a firm handshake and a well reasoned argument. Sometimes it requires an F 35. And as I always say before you criticize the military industrial complex have you cleaned your room lately? No? Then perhaps you should start there before you start projecting your cynicism onto others.

The Canadian Predicament: Lobster and Lockheed

Now Canada. Good old Canada eh? They're reviewing a massive contract for Lockheed's F 35 jets because apparently they rely too much on the US for security. Well isn't that just special? It's like when you're a teenager and you resent your parents for providing you with food and shelter while simultaneously demanding they buy you the newest iPhone. Classic really. They want to be independent but they also want the benefits of being within America's sphere of influence. It seems like they want the Lobster without the work and the F 35s without the responsibility. I'd tell Trudeau to sort himself out but it seems he may be too busy posturing to actually handle any sort of complex issue.

Chaos and Order: A Match Made in Defense Spending

The world is a dangerous place. Ukraine the Middle East… it's a veritable smorgasbord of conflict. And what do people do when they're afraid? They invest in security. They seek order. And that my friends is good news for Lockheed Martin. It's a testament to the fundamental human desire for stability even if that stability comes at a… substantial cost. It's not all bad however; with a good company offering a good service more employment opportunities can open up. That's more people not living in chaos.

The F 35: A Technological Albatross?

Of course even Lockheed has its problems. The F 35 program has been plagued by delays in rolling out a technology upgrade. Now that's a problem. You can't just promise people security; you have to deliver it. It's like telling someone you're going to help them clean their room and then never showing up. It erodes trust. Trust is the bedrock of any functioning society and if Lockheed wants to maintain its position it needs to get its act together on the F 35. You need to specify what is wrong and right about the upgrade and specify what is wrong and right about the delays. It's about transparency which leads to trust!

The Numbers Game: Revenue Up Space Down

The numbers are up across the board except for the space division. Well that's interesting. Perhaps people are realizing that the real battles are fought here on Earth not in some distant galaxy. Or maybe the space division just needs to clean its room. Either way the overall picture is one of growth and resilience. It demonstrates that even in the face of global uncertainty there are still opportunities for those who provide essential services like well 'freedom delivery' systems.

The Bigger Picture: A Defense Budget on Steroids

Ultimately the success of Lockheed Martin is a reflection of the world we live in. A world where chaos reigns and people are desperately seeking order. And as long as that remains the case companies like Lockheed Martin will continue to thrive. But let's not forget the individual. The individual who must strive for personal responsibility clean their room and contribute to the betterment of society. Only then can we hope to build a world where F 35s are no longer necessary. Though admittedly that might take a while. Now go forth and be fruitful and for heaven's sake try to avoid getting into any unnecessary conflicts. Unless of course you're flying an F 35. Then all bets are off! *laughs maniacally*
