A Fairytale on Wall Street?
Darling Wall Street is buzzing and it's not about the latest It Bag. No no it's Disney. Yes *that* Disney. The one with the princesses and the talking mice. Apparently they've had a quarter so good it's practically a glass slipper fit for Cinderella herself. And you know what I always say 'Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates.' But maybe just maybe Disney is Wall Street's soulmate right now.
Streaming Dreams and Theme Park Thrills
Word on the street (or rather on CNBC) is that Disney's streaming numbers are up. Up! As if they weren't already vying for our precious screen time. And their theme parks? Packed! Apparently everyone's suddenly craving a churro and a hug from Mickey Mouse. It's enough to make a girl wonder if fairy tales are real or if someone just spiked the cosmos with pixie dust.
Analysts Gone Wild (About Disney That Is)
Honey you wouldn't believe the analysts. They're practically throwing confetti. Barclays Bank of America UBS Goldman Sachs – all singing the same tune: Disney's the bee's knees! Overweight ratings buy ratings price targets that make my rent look like a bargain. Makes you wonder if they're secretly auditioning for a role in the next Disney musical.
The Bottom Line: Is Disney the New Black?
So what does it all mean? Is Disney the new black? The new Manolo Blahnik? The new... well you get the picture. Apparently analysts believe Disney has the least structural risks that DTC is going to be profitable and the theme parks business is picking up. Maybe just maybe Disney is the investment that will keep us in cosmos and stilettos for years to come. As I always say 'I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet.'
Cost Rationalization and Organizational Restructuring Oh My!
Apparently Disney's doing some serious housekeeping. Cost rationalization organizational restructuring... sounds like someone's been binge watching Marie Kondo. But hey if tidying up can lead to a happier balance sheet I'm all for it. After all as I've learned 'the universe may not always play fair but at least it's got a wicked sense of humor.' And right now it seems to be laughing all the way to the bank with Disney.
To Buy or Not to Buy: That is the Question
So darling the big question: should we all be rushing out to buy Disney stock? Well I'm no financial advisor (my expertise lies in shoes and emotional baggage) but if Wall Street's love affair with the Mouse House continues it might just be the investment that keeps us fabulous. But as I've learned 'some labels are best left in the closet'. Choose wisely my friends. Choose wisely.
