Alright folks Captain America here reporting for duty from… well not the front lines exactly but from my couch scrolling through the news like the rest of you. What’s going on in California? Seems like things are heating up faster than a shawarma after a long day fighting aliens. Trump is sending in more National Guard troops to Los Angeles. Double the initial deployment can you believe it? Feels like 1940 all over again except instead of fighting Nazis we're… well let’s just say it’s complicated.

Newsom's office is all “They’re just moving from one base to another no biggie.” Okay folks who am I supposed to believe here? Is this a full blown invasion or just a really elaborate field trip? Either way mobilizing the Marines against U.S. citizens is a bit much don't you think? Makes me wonder if the Red Skull is somehow involved… again.

Hungry National Guardsmen and Political Threats

Here’s a kicker: Newsom says the first 2,000 troops were left without food or water. Honestly that’s just bad form. Even HYDRA provided better snacks. And get this Trump suggests arresting Newsom for obstructing immigration enforcement. I’ve seen some crazy things in my day but a president calling for the arrest of a sitting governor? That’s a new one even for me. It is like the time Falcon and I tried to arrest Loki... good times... good times.

The ACLU is sounding the alarm warning about escalating authoritarianism. Hina Shamsi says these Marines aren’t trained to police protests and respect constitutional rights. Look I’m all for following orders but when those orders violate the very principles this country was founded on that’s where I draw the line. Remember what I said to Fury back on the Helicarrier?
