A Stark Revelation!
Alright citizens! Captain America here reporting for duty. Seems our pal Elon Musk the guy who's trying to get us all to Mars (personally I prefer Brooklyn) is raising an eyebrow at the Federal Reserve's plans to spend $2.5 billion on renovating their building. Now I'm no Tony Stark when it comes to finances but even I know that's enough to buy a whole lot of freedom. And maybe a new shield... mine's getting a bit scuffed after all these years fighting Red Skull wannabes.
The Price of Progress (or Just Really Fancy Wallpaper?)
The Fed started this project back in '21 with a $1.9 billion budget. But like a Hydra agent popping out of nowhere costs have surged. Rising material costs delays design changes... sounds like the usual supervillain plot doesn't it? They say it's to meet codes update tech and boost energy efficiency. Makes sense I guess. Can't have our money managed by folks in a building older than I am (and that's saying something!).
Consolidation: A Tactic Even I Use!
The Fed folks claim this'll save money in the long run. Consolidating staff into one super efficient modern space? Sounds like something Nick Fury would cook up for S.H.I.E.L.D. Maybe they're planning a secret underground base for fighting economic threats? If so they should just ask. We've got experience.
Is This Money Ours or Not?
Musk bless his eccentric heart is worried about taxpayer money. He's got a point even though the Fed isn't *directly* funded by taxes. Still the Governors get paid with our money and the Fed's profits usually go back to the Treasury. But with rising interest rates they've been taking losses. So yeah it's complicated. Even for a guy who understands time travel.
An 80 Year Old Building Huh?
Apparently the building's ancient. Eighty years! That's older than Bucky when he was frozen. The systems are outdated and the building doesn't fully serve the Board's needs. I get it. Sometimes you just need a new suit. Or in this case a new central bank. But two and a half billion dollars? Hmmm...
We're Gonna Need Some Answers
So what's the verdict? Is this a wise investment or a boondoggle worthy of a Loki prank? I'm not sure yet. But I know one thing: we need transparency. We need to see what we're getting for that two and a half billion. Maybe a holographic display of eagles soaring through the stock market? Or a Bat Signal but for economic emergencies? Stay tuned citizens. Captain America's on the case! Excelsior!

Cap, you should give Elon a call! Maybe he'll donate some vibranium for the renovation!

This sounds like a job for the Department of Government Efficiency. Get 'em, Elon!
