Alright folks Captain America here reporting for duty. Seems like things are heating up in the Middle East and not in a 'let's have a barbecue' kind of way. I've been reading about President Trump's latest comments aimed at Iran and well let's just say it's got my shield spinning. Unconditional surrender huh? That's a pretty strong stance even for someone who once punched Hitler a few hundred times. Remember 'With great power comes great responsibility.' (Wait that's not my line. Who said that?)

Trump's calling Ayatollah Khamenei an 'easy target' on Truth Social. Now I'm no diplomat but that doesn't exactly sound like the path to peace. It's one thing to stand up for what's right but it's another to go around poking the bear. Or in this case the Ayatollah. You know sometimes I feel like I'm the only one trying to keep things civil. 'I can do this all day,' but I'd rather not spend it mediating international squabbles.

Skies Over Iran: Is it Really 'Complete and Total' Control?

The President boasting about 'complete and total control of the skies over Iran' sounds like a scene straight out of a comic book. But real world conflicts are a bit more complicated than that. Boasting about how our 'stuff' is better than theirs even if it is doesn't solve anything. Let's not forget folks it's about using power responsibly. Remember what Erskine said 'Because a strong man who has known power all his life may lose respect for that power but a weak man knows the value of strength and has compassion.'

Bunker Busters and Boom Goes the Economy?

Word on the street is the White House might help Israel destroy Iran's underground uranium enrichment facility. Talk about a 'bunker buster' bomb! Now I'm not an expert on nuclear physics but I know that dropping massive bombs usually has… consequences. Not to mention the stock market's already doing the jitterbug. Dow Jones down oil prices up – it's like watching a supervillain wreak havoc on Wall Street.

Pentagon's Packing Heat Again

More warships and aircraft carriers heading to the Middle East? Looks like the Pentagon's loading up for a party nobody wants to attend. While I understand the need to protect our interests and allies sometimes I wish we could all just sit down have a cup of coffee (or tea if that's your thing) and talk things out. But hey maybe I'm just an old fashioned idealist.

G7 Drama and Abrupt Departures

And to top it all off Trump abruptly left the G7 meeting after criticizing their decision to kick Russia out. Seems like everyone's got a bone to pick with someone these days. I guess diplomacy is a lost art. You know back in my day we solved problems with good old fashioned handshakes and a little bit of common sense. Now it's all social media threats and nuclear options. Progress I guess?
