Plug Power: Burning Debt for Fuel?

Plug Power huh? Up 24% after signing a deal to issue $525 million in secured debentures. Sounds like they're trading future pain for present gain. Classic move. They're saying first quarter guidance is between $130 million and $134 million. Decent I guess. But remember what I always say: 'What's the point of having fuck you money if you can't say fuck you?' And right now Plug Power seems to be saying 'fuck you' to their future balance sheet. Risky but sometimes you gotta roll the dice.

Nio's Electric Buzz: Citi's Gamble

Nio the Chinese EV maker jumped 5% because Citi put an upside 30 day catalyst watch on them. Analyst Jeff Chung thinks they'll launch new models sooner than expected. Look the EV game is crowded and China's a battlefield. If Nio wants to survive they gotta innovate faster than a Shanghai taxi driver cuts you off. They need to be first or they are last. No participation trophies in this game. Ask Tesla.

ADMA Biologics: The Yield Play

ADMA Biologics got FDA approval for their yield enhancement production process. Up 10%! More bang for your buck squeezing 20% more out of the same starting plasma. Efficient. I like it. It's like finding a way to get an extra 20% out of your hedge fund managers without paying them a bigger bonus. Now that's what I call 'Alpha'.

Nvidia vs. Huawei: The Chip War Heats Up

Nvidia took a 3% hit because Huawei is testing a new AI processor that might compete with them. This is where it gets interesting. It's a chip war and these things could get bloody. Nvidia's been riding high but complacency is a killer. Huawei's got the home field advantage in China and they ain't afraid to play dirty. This is like when I found out my neighbor had the same car as me so I went out and bought a Bentley. Gotta stay ahead.

Peloton Pedals Forward (Maybe)

Peloton's up 5% on Truist's upgrade. They say the company cleaned up the 'BS' and should see a gradual recovery. Look I'm not a stationary bike kind of guy. I prefer something with a V8 and a chauffeur. But if Peloton really cleaned up their act maybe they can survive. But 'gradual recovery' doesn't exactly scream 'buy now'. It's like Chuck Rhoades going to a priest for forgiveness. It will take a long time to recover from what he has done.

Boeing's Rocky Recovery: Up Up and Away?

Boeing's shares gained about 2% after Bernstein upgraded them. They think Boeing "should be on a much firmer path than in 2023". After those crashes and the Alaska Airlines fiasco 'firmer path' is an understatement. They need a miracle. The whole company has been tarnished. It's like trying to convince people that Axe Capital never bent the rules. Good luck with that.

Nio launching new models sooner? Someone's feeling the pressure from Tesla and BYD.
