Into the Data Wild
Right listen up! Senator Shaheen is kicking up dust about Elon Musk and his DOGE crew. Apparently these guys have been wading neck deep in some seriously sensitive government data. We're talking Social Security Treasury the whole shebang! Now I've wrestled crocs that were less concerning than this. The fear is they'll waltz back into the private sector and use this intel to line their own pockets. Unforgivable! As I always say: 'Improvise Adapt Overcome'—but that applies to surviving the wilderness not exploiting government secrets.
Bannon's Brainwave
Even Steve Bannon is raising an eyebrow! Bannon wants folks to sign a letter certifying that they haven't swiped any data on their way out. When asked if he distrusted Musk he gave the cryptic response "Trust but Verify." Crikey! When Bannon and a US Senator see eye to eye you know it's a dire situation. If I had a sip of my own urine for every time I heard something like this I'd be a mighty hydrated human being right now! If they don't verify its time to drink my own urine!
White House Dismissal
The White House is calling the senator's concerns "pointless," claiming everyone's already following the rules. Yeah right. That's like saying a scorpion won't sting you because there's a sign that says "No Stinging Allowed." I've learned in the wild you trust no one! Always have a plan always have a backup and never believe what anyone tells you.
Musk's Money Moves
Musk the big cheese himself was Trump's biggest financial cheerleader in the 2024 elections. Now he's got his fingers in everything—Tesla SpaceX and this AI thing xAI which needs mountains of data to train its chatbots. It is his newest challenge and he plans to get to the top of that mountain! It's like he's trying to build a data Everest and he will stop at nothing to reach that summit.
Canada's Calling
Speaking of xAI the Canadians are already giving Musk the side eye investigating whether he's been using personal data to train Grok without asking permission. 'Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance,' as my SAS instructor used to say. Looks like someone skipped that lesson! You cannot just go around eating anything and everything and not expect to get a bad case of diahorrea. Same with data just because you can eat anything doesn't mean you should.
Counting the Costs
Musk claims DOGE saved the government a ton of cash but some folks are saying those numbers are a bit… optimistic. One estimate says it could actually cost taxpayers $135 billion this year. Ouch! It turns out cutting costs sometimes involves a bit of pain. You know like when you have to amputate a limb to survive. You gotta do what you gotta do.
